Scottie Scheffler completing the set, Ludvig Aberg and Cameron Young muscling in on the action, and the potential for a Rory McIlroy heel-turn are the most tantalising storylines we're looking forward to at the 2026 Majors.
With the monkey at last off his back, we wouldn't be surprised if the affable Northern Irishman added more Major titles to his collection. And wouldn't it be poetic if that had an impact on Scheffler's Grand Slam quest?

TV coverage of the Majors is available through ESPN, CBS, USA Network and NBC.

The Majors: Coverage Split
Coverage of the Majors is split between the channels as follows:
- Rounds 1 and 2 of the Masters are shown on ESPN, with Rounds 3 and 4 on CBS.
- Rounds 1 and 2 of the PGA Championship, as well as early coverage of Rounds 3 and 4, are shown on ESPN. Late coverage of Rounds 3 and 4 are on CBS.
- For the US Open, early coverage of Round 1 is shown on USA Network, mid-round coverage of Round 2 is on NBC, and Rounds 3 and 4 are split between USA Network and NBC.
- For the British Open, late coverage of Rounds 1 and 2 is shown on USA Network, and Rounds 3 and 4 are split between USA Network and NBC.
CBS' Majors coverage is also shown on Paramount Plus, which starts at $13.99/month if you want access to the simulcast feed of CBS.

Which Major gives out the most prize money?
The winnings for each of the 2026 Majors are yet to be announced at the time of writing, but in 2025, the Masters paid $4.2m of a $21m prize pot to Rory McIlroy, the PGA Championship paid Scottie Scheffler $3.42m of $19m, the US Open paid JJ Spaun $4.3m of $21.5m, and the Open paid Scheffler $3.1m of $17m.
What's the oldest Major?
The Open is – by far – the oldest of the four Majors. Now in its 154th year, it was first held in 1860, at Prestwick Golf Club in South Ayrshire, Scotland.
The US Open was inaugurated in 1895 at Newport Country Club in Rhode Island, the PGA Championship in 1916 at Siwanoy Country Club in Eastchester, New York (though it was first held in 1894 at Saint Andrew's Golf Club in New York), and the Masters in 1934 at Augusta.
