Best early Black Friday deals: my 15 top picks
This is the lowest price I've seen for the newest version of Amazon's premium streaming device and it beats the offer that was available to Prime members back in July by $2. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max streams the same content in the same quality as the standard 4K version, but the extra power inside means you get faster performance when navigating apps and searching for shows. Plus, it uses WiFi 6 technology to give you a more stable and consistent streaming experience.
This might be the best early Black Friday deal - Apple's all-new Apple Watch 10 is on sale for a record-low price of $349. The Apple Watch 10 includes upgrades such as Apple's new S10 chipset, sleep apnea detection, depth gauge, and a new design featuring the most advanced display. I don't expect you'll find a better price on Black Friday, and this offer is in danger of being sold out.
You can get the best-selling Keurig K-Express coffee maker on sale for only $29.88. The single-serve coffee maker features a compact design for easy storage and uses K-Cups to brew a fresh, hot cup of coffee in minutes. Today's early Black Friday deal is the lowest price we've ever seen, and we predict it will go fast.
You name it, the Samsung S90C does it all. This top OLED TV is down to a new record-low price and will likely be removed from sale soon, so there's not much time to snag what we think is the best Black Friday TV deal you can buy today. It offers HDR OLED, which analyses each scene so you get rich and accurate Pantone-validated colors at all times. Its picture quality is great for movies, shows, and games, but its sound is also surprisingly good for TV speakers. The Samsung S90C 65-inch OLED TV also packs four HDMI 2.1 ports, which are perfect for game consoles.
If you're looking for an early Black Friday deal on an air fryer, Walmart has the Gourmia digital air fryer on sale for just $35 – an incredible price. Perfect for families, the Gourmia air fryer features an 8-quart basket and eight one-touch cooking functions for quick and easy meals.
Everything about this mobile phone is big. The size, the specs, the performance, and especially the camera. All of these made it our pick for one of the best phones you can buy right now. It now also helps that the cost is dramatically reduced thanks to this Black Friday deal. As well as a free double storage upgrade to 512GB, you can also get up to $800 off when you trade your current phone and snag the top Samsung flagship for a dramatically low price.
The viral Beckham Hotel Collection pillows are always a top seller during holiday sales like Black Friday, and the queen-size set is on sale for $44.97, when you apply the additional discount. The queen-size pillows have over 240,000 positive reviews and are the number-one best-selling pillow on Amazon's site.
This is a new record-low price and an incredible early Black Friday deal on Apple's best-selling AirPods 3. The AirPods feature a new design with shorter stems that include touch-capacitive force sensors for easy control. The earbuds also deliver impressive sound with spatial audio, resulting in an immersive experience and a MagSafe charging case that provides more than 30 hours of total listening time.
If you're looking for a big-screen TV on a budget, Walmart has the TCL S4 Series 4K display for just $378 - an incredible price. The 2024 TCL TV features 4K UHD resolution, the Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in for seamless streaming, and a handy voice remote.
Dyson cordless vacuums are always Black Friday best-sellers, and Walmart has the powerful V12 on sale for $399.99 - a record-low price. Perfect for pet owners, the Dyson V12 features a de-tangling motor bar that works across hardwood floors and carpets and can transform into a handheld vac for quick and convenient clean-ups.
With fast performance for a smartwatch and a sleek design, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is instantly likeable. And now you can save up to $175 when you trade in your current device – alongside a flat $40 discount. Samsung's latest wearable provides more precise heart rate tracking than previous models, while it also helps you monitor how stressed you are and how well you’re sleeping. Think of it as your personal assistant on your wrist and you’re not far off. It even suggests how to respond to messages and notifications.
My favorite early Black Friday deal is the all-new Fire HD 8 tablet for $54.99 - a record-low price. It has an 8-inch HD display and impressive all-day battery life. Plus, the tablet works with Amazon Alexa, so you can use your voice to make calls, play music, set reminders, and check the weather.
Amazon Music Unlimited: free 3-month trial
Get access to 100 million songs completely free for three months with this limited-time offer. Ad-free streaming, unlimited skips, curated playlists, an expanded library and Alexa device support make this a great way to get music streaming for less this November. Note that this promotion is currently available for new subscribers only.
A robot vacuum and mop for $249.99 is an incredible deal, especially from a reputable brand like Shark. You're getting powerful suction and a sonic mop that cleans hard floors at the same time. You can also control the vacuum with the compatible Shark app or through voice control, thanks to the inclusion of Amazon Alexa.
This is my top pick for a MacBook deal in the build-up to Black Friday. It's on the latest MacBook Air M3 at Best Buy - in particular the slightly upgraded 16GB configuration. That should afford an edge with overall performance and longevity and today's $200 discount at Best Buy also brings this listing down to its lowest ever price. Generally speaking, this isn't the cheapest MacBook deal I've seen (you can get the M2 for $799) but it's probably the one I'd spring for right now if it were my own cash I was laying down.
Early Black Friday deals 2024: TVs
This week's cheapest Black Friday TV deal is this 24-inch Insignia HD smart TV on sale for just $64.99 - a price unheard of. This is a fantastic deal if you're looking to add a smaller display to an extra bedroom, and while the Insignia F20 Series lacks 4K resolution, you're getting the Fire TV experience built-in and an Alexa voice remote.
Samsung’s top mini-LED TV for 2024 now starts at a record-low of just $899 today at Samsung. That’s an excellent deal for an upper mid-range TV offering the high brightness, anti-glare screen, and wide viewing angle needed for daytime sports viewing. With four HDMI 2.1 ports with up to 144Hz support, it’s also a great TV for gaming. Sure, it’s pricier than some other mini-LED options, but today's discounts at Samsung are as good as any we've seen so far.
The LG B4 is one of the most affordable OLED TVs on the market, and Best Buy has the 48-inch model on sale for $649.99 - a new record-low price. Its self-lit OLED pixels and Dolby Vision together enhance color and contrast beyond what the average backlit TV can do. Its built-in gaming features and 120Hz refresh rate make it an unbeatable deal for gamers looking for an upgrade. I can't imagine the price dropping further during Best Buy's official Black Friday sale.
Samsung's Black Friday sale also includes a host of price cuts on the gorgeous Frame TV. The 2024 Samsung Frame TV features Pantone art-validated colors that deliver lifelike images. Plus, the display now comes with Streams, a complimentary set of artwork streamed from the Samsung Art Store. Today's deal on the 50-inch model is a record-low price.
Samsung's Black Friday sale has dropped this 55-inch Q60D QLED TV to an incredible price of just $629.99. The Q60D features 4K and Quantum HDR Smart technology with Motion Xcelerator, resulting in bright colors and realistic images. Its slim design also means it looks great in any living room.
LG's all-new 55-inch C4 OLED TV is on sale for $1,299.99 - a new record-low price. Ranked in our best TV guide, the C4 features exceptional brightness, LG's latest Alpha 9 AI chip for improved performance, and impressive gaming features, including four HDMI 2.1 ports with 4K 120Hz, VRR, and ALLM support, and 144Hz certification from Nvidia.
The Sony Bravia 8 is back at its lowest price yet ahead of Black Friday. As one of the best TVs for sound, it's an ideal choice if you want stellar sound without paying extra for a soundbar. Its OLED screen might not be the brightest of them all, but it still manages to rival the picture quality of its competitors using its brightness-boosting Bravia XP Processor. You can even use it with your gaming console of choice thanks to the two HDMI ports (out of four total) that support 4K/120 Hz gaming.
A 65-inch 4K smart TV for $399.99 is an incredible deal to snag ahead of Black Friday. The LG UT70 Series TV delivers a premium picture experience with brilliant colors thanks to LG's α5 Gen7 AI processor and WebOS 24 for seamless streaming. Gamers will also love the game optimizer and dashboard with GeForce NOW, which allows you to see and adjust all your settings in one place.
You name it, the Samsung S90C does it all. This top OLED TV is down to a record-low price and will likely be removed from sale soon, so there's not much time to snag what we think is the best TV you can buy today.
Walmart's Black Friday sale has Samsung's best-selling 65-inch DU6900 series on sale for just $398. The Samsung display packs a solid 'Crystal' UHD 4K processor and 4K Upscaling for a premium picture experience, an easy-to-use Tizen operating system, and Object Tracking Sound Lite for theater-like sound.
This is a great deal if you're interested in a big-screen budget display ahead of Black Friday. The 2024 Insignia F50 TV features 4K HD resolution, DTS Studio Sound, smart capabilities with the Fire operating system, and a voice remote with hands-free Alexa, so you can use your voice to control your TV.
Early Black Friday deals 2024: Appliances
If you're looking for an early Black Friday deal on an air fryer, Walmart has the Gourmia digital air fryer on sale for just $35 – an incredible price. Perfect for families, the Gourmia air fryer features an 8-quart basket and eight one-touch cooking functions for quick and easy meals.
Ninja is one of the most popular air fryer manufacturers, and this is a new record-low price for one of its latest and easiest-to-use appliances. The 5-quart capacity drawer is enough to make meals for the whole family, and preset functions allow for easy air frying, roasting, reheating, and dehydrating. The compact design means it'll comfortably fit on your countertop, too.
The Ninja Foodi air fryer is another Black Friday favorite, and Walmart has the 8-quart appliance on sale for $129 - just $10 more than the record-low price. The Ninja Foodi features a large dual-basket air fryer that can quickly prepare multiple foods at once.
The Ninja Creami ice cream maker will surely be a Black Friday best-seller due to its popularity at recent holiday sales, and Walmart has the appliance down to a record-low price. You can make ice cream, milkshakes, and sorbets with a touch of a button and add your favorite mix-ins and flavors.
The top-rated Tineco cordless wet-dry vacuum mop combo is on sale for a record-low price of $98 at Walmart's Black Friday sale. The Tineco iFloor 2 vacuums and washes hard floors in one step, handling wet and dry messes in one sweep.
The ultra-light Bissell CleanView vacuum features a compact size, making it easy to store if you're working in a small space. The Bissell vacuum also features powerful suction and a triple-action brush roll to pick up pet hair seamlessly. Today's early Black Friday deal from Amazon brings the price down to just $64.99 - a record-low price.
This exact model was a best-seller at last year's Walmart Black Friday sale, and it's currently marked down to $97 - the lowest price we've ever seen. The upright vacuum works on carpet and hard floors and features lift-away technology, so you can lift the pod to clean hard-to-reach areas.
The Detect Pro is a lightweight, maneuverable cordless stick vacuum that boasts a whole range of clever detection an automation features, including the ability to adjust suction based on the type of floor its on and how dirty it is. This is very nearly the lowest price we've seen on this model (it has briefly been very slightly cheaper), and incredible value for money. This deal is price matched at Amazon.
Amazon has the top-rated iRobot Roomba robot vacuum on sale for $149.99 - the lowest price we've ever seen. Designed with homes with pets in mind, the Roomba features three levels of powerful suction for custom cleaning on carpets and hard floors and recharges itself when the battery is low.
Early Black Friday deals 2024: Apple devices
The Apple AirTag is one of Apple's highly coveted gadgets, and it rarely gets discounted, which is why today's Black Friday deal from Walmart is so great. You can get Apple's location tracking device for just $19 - a new record-low price. If you tend to misplace your keys or wallet, attach the AirTag to anything you don't want to lose, and your iPhone will locate the item.
AirPods are always popular during Black Friday, and Walmart has Apple's cheapest AirPods, the AirPods 2, on sale for just $89. That's the best deal you can find right now, only $20 more than the record-low price. This offer is highly recommended if you want new AirPods and don't need noise-canceling technology.
The AirPods 3 feature a new design with shorter stems that include touch-capacitive force sensors for easy control. The earbuds also deliver impressive sound with spatial audio, resulting in an immersive experience and a MagSafe charging case that provides more than 30 hours of total listening time.
This might be the best Walmart Black Friday deal - Apple's all-new Apple Watch 10 is on sale for a record-low price of $349. The Apple Watch 10 includes upgrades such as Apple's new S10 chipset, sleep apnea detection, depth gauge, and a new design featuring the most advanced display. I don't expect you'll find a better price on Black Friday, and this offer is in danger of being sold out.
Apple's best-selling 10.2 iPad dropped to $199.99 during Prime Day, and Best Buy has brought this excellent deal back ahead of Black Friday. While the tablet is an older model, it still packs a 10.2-inch Retina display, and the A13 Bionic chip ensures excellent picture quality and superior performance. The entry-level tablet can do it all without issue, according to our Apple iPad 10.2 review, whether browsing the net, streaming media, light work, or playing games.
Apple slashed the recommended starting price of the iPad 10.9 (2022) to $349 earlier this year, but Amazon has now dropped that figure even further. It's great value for money at this price if you need an all-around tablet. We said Apple's latest base-level tablet is a big upgrade over the previous generation model in our iPad 10.9 (2022) review, with a larger Liquid Retina display, a new A14 Bionic chip, improved cameras, USB-C support, and a sleek design.
While this is a good price for the MacBook Air M2, I'd suggest waiting to see if the previous record-low of $649 is made available again nearer to Black Friday. Even though a newer M3 version is available, we concluded that this is still one of the best laptops you can buy in our MacBook Air M2 review, thanks to the stylish design, clear display, impressive performance, and long 18-hour battery life. For those needing a premium powerhouse for creative apps such as photo editing, video editing and more intense workloads, this is a good offer on an Apple machine right now.
Best Buy has dropped the price of the Apple MacBook Pro with M3 chip to just over $1,000. This is $200 cheaper than the previous record-low price. The 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and 8GB of RAM deliver unbelievable performance, making this powerful high-end laptop a great option for content creators or anyone who needs to multitask a lot. Read more about why we loved it so much in our MacBook Pro 14-inch (M3) review.
Early Black Friday deals 2024: Laptops
If you're looking for a budget laptop during today's Black Friday sale, Walmart has HP's 15.6-inch laptop on sale for an incredible $229. For that money, you're getting an Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB of SSD, and up to 10 hours of battery life.
It's not every day you see a cheap laptop deal as good as this early Black Friday listing at Best Buy on the Asus Vivobook. This is the entry-level configuration but its combination of an Intel Core i3 and 8GB of RAM should be enough if you're looking for a machine that can cover the core basics like emails or web browsing without too many tabs open. This machine's weakness is it's small storage drive, so bear that in mind if you've got a lot of files to store.
Here is my favorite cheap laptop deal in the Dell Holiday Sale. OK, so it's not super cheap but my honest advice is to spring for this one if you can afford it - not only because it's got a decent Core i5 chipset, but also because it comes with a sizeable storage drive and a 16GB of RAM. While you can get a Windows 11 laptop for $300 or less these days, I think this one is a wise investment as it'll not only get you decent everyday performance out of the box but it should last you a good few years without the need for an upgrade.
As a more mid-range choice, I'd recommend this 16-inch Inspiron 16. Not only does it have a really decent (and new) Intel Core i7 chipset but you're also getting a sizeable 1TB SSD - which is fantastic if you want to store all your multimedia on-disk without having to worry about external or cloud storage. Overall, not a super high-end laptop design-wise but one that offers superb bang for the buck if you're more worried about performance and storage over looks.
This Dell G15 is a stand-out gaming laptop deal ahead of Black Friday right now. $799 is a great price to pay for a machine with an RTX 4060 graphics card and this machine also features a powerful Ryzen 7 chipset, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD - meaning it doesn't need any glaring upgrades to get great performance right out the box. While it's not a super high-end machine, this one is a good choice if you want smooth frame rates at 1080p but don't want to completely break the bank.
Early Black Friday deals 2024: Headphones
The Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 are a refinement of the previous model with AirPods-like ear sticks, active noise cancellation, a 11mm driver, and AI-powered features like a voice-call booster and a translation tool – providing you have a modern Samsung phone. They look and feel good in your ears too with up to 5 hours of battery life with ANC on, making them good for your commute or workout. And now you can get them for as little as $39.99 with a trade-in, that's a bargain.
These Beats headphones were the first fruits of Apple's deal to buy the Beats brand. According to our review, they maintain their level of quality with energetic and punchy sound, solid Bluetooth, and excellent wireless stability. Couple them with the discount, and you have some serious budget headphones. Today's Black Friday deal is a record-low price and beats Amazon's current offer.
Some of Sony's best cheap headphones are in the early Black Friday sale at Best Buy. We particularly like this pair of cans as they offer a combination of good audio quality and impressive noise cancellation for the price. The Sony WHCH720N are the ones to bag if your budget doesn't stretch to the more premium XM5 but you still want a great pair of over-ears.
The WF-C700N remain some of the best budget earbuds around, more than a year after their launch, especially now they've slipped to under $100 at Best Buy. Our five-star Sony WF-C700N review goes into why we rate them so highly, but the short version is that the mix of sound quality, noise cancellation power and comfort is basically unmatched. Especially at this price, which has only been beaten once before by $10.
Quite simply the best in Sony's class-leading wireless over-ear lineup. The older XM4 headphones were outstanding, the XM3 cans before it were excellent, and it'll come as little surprise to know that Sony's XM5 proposition is also incredibly hard to beat – especially with a whopping 25% off, equalling their lowest-ever price! They don't fold up like the XM4 but, as a quick glance at our Sony WH-100XM5 review proves, there's not much else to pick fault with.
A $100 discount is the biggest we've ever seen on these incredible headphones, matching their lowest price to date. With incredible sound quality, supreme comfort, and unrivalled active noise cancellation, you're guaranteed an incredible listening experience.
Black Friday deals 2024: key information
When is Black Friday 2024?
Black Friday 2024 takes place on Friday, November 29. The actual date shifts, but the day of the week stays the same: it's always the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Like in years past, Black Friday deals start in early November as retailers launch early sales, trying to stretch out the holiday shopping season.
Best Buy announced that its Black Friday shopping season will kick off on November 8, and Walmart released its Black Friday Ad and the date for its Black Friday event, which will start on November 11. Target will launch a three-day Black Friday event starting on November 7.
When do Black Friday deals start?
While Black Friday proper falls on November 29 this year, we should see deals well before that, thanks to a recent trend of retailers launching early sales. Instead of having one day of Black Friday deals, retailers try to stretch out the holiday shopping season by launching mini sales throughout the month of November.
Best Buy announced its early Black Friday sale will launch on November 8, with new deals released every Friday. Walmart also revealed its Black Friday Ad and its Black Friday sale events, which will begin on November 11 with early access for Walmart Plus members. Target also has a Black Friday landing page, and its early three-day sale will kick off on November 7.
While last year's Amazon Black Friday sale didn't start until mid-November, the retailer has holiday deals you can shop right now, which include daily new offers with Black Friday-like prices.
The adage is that retailers reserve their best deals for Black Friday proper, but that hasn't happened in recent years. We expect to see record-low prices on some of this year's best-selling tech, home items, and appliances released throughout October and November, and you'll be able to shop all the best deals in this guide.
I'll be tracking early sales launching in the lead-up to Black Friday, listing all the best offers and comparing prices so you can make sure you're buying a genuine bargain.
What Black Friday deals can you expect?
Black Friday is the biggest shopping event of the year, thanks to hundreds of online retailers offering a wide variety of items on sale. Whether you're shopping for tech gadgets, this year's hottest kitchen appliance, or Christmas gifts for your family, you can guarantee you'll find a discount during Black Friday.
According to Adobe Analytics, some of the best Black Friday deals are on tech products, with electronics leading the way for the biggest consumer spending. This is due to pricey items like TVs, laptops, headphones, smartwatches, and gaming consoles getting discounted to record-low prices you won't find outside of Black Friday.
Apple devices are also extremely popular during Black Friday with fresh discounts on brand-new 2024 gadgets and best-ever offers on older model products. Other popular categories include clothing, furniture, home appliances, and toys.
As a deals editor, this will be my seventh year covering Black Friday, and the most popular deals I've seen always include budget big-screen TVs, OLED displays, robot vacuums, cheap smart home devices, AirPods, air fryers, and gaming consoles.
I expect we'll see the same mix of products on sale at this year's Black Friday deals event, and I'll be covering all the best offers in this guide.
Black Friday 2024: our buying advice
Where to find the best Black Friday deals?
Most online retailers offer Black Friday deals, but it's our job to sort through the thousands of offers to find the best bargains. You'll typically find the best Black Friday deals from big-name retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and Target, with Amazon leading the pack.
Amazon is a Black Friday favorite not only because it typically offers the most competitive prices but also because of the wide variety of products it covers. Whether you're looking for tech items like laptops, TVs, or AirPods or searching for discounts on clothing, kitchen appliances, or toys, Amazon is likely to offer Black Friday deals on the product you're after. Other retailers that offer impressive Black Friday deals include Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Dell, Home Depot, Lowe's, and Wayfair.
With so many retailers and promotions, Black Friday can be overwhelming, but that's where our deal expertise comes in. We go through every retailer to pick out the very best Black Friday deals so you can make sure you're getting the lowest price available.
Why is it called Black Friday
Let’s take a history lesson to find how why they call it Black Friday: the first known mention of Black Friday related to this shopping experience was in November 1951, when the journal Factory Management and Maintenance used it to describe people calling in sick the day after Thanksgiving so they could have an extra day off work.
At the same time, US police were using the phrases “Black Friday” and “Black Saturday” to describe the horrendous traffic that occurred at the beginning of the pre-Christmas shopping season.
In 1961, the local government moved to change the shopping season to “Big Friday” and “Big Saturday,” but it never caught on. The notion that it was the time when retailers moved 'back into the black' was seen far later and clearly an attempt to bring positivity to the term.
How much cheaper are things on Black Friday?
I know that many people think Black Friday is a scam, but when you look at a product's price history and compare the deals to other holiday sales, I would say that 90% of products are cheaper on Black Friday.
I will have no issue filling this guide with record-low prices on TVs, Apple devices, kitchen appliances, toys, vacuums, laptops, and smart home devices from brands like Samsung, Dyson, Keurig, LG, Apple, Ninja, and Nespresso.
That is to say, products are significantly cheaper on Black Friday. The only caveat is that items just aren't cheaper on the official Black Friday date, November 29, but you'll find some of the best Black Friday deals at early sales, and our guide will be covering all the top offers in this guide.
