The best Black Friday mattress deals

Saatva Classic
Saatva Classic: was $1,395 now $1,195 at Saatva.com

The Saatva Classic remains at the top of our best mattress guide and you can now save up to $300 in the Black Friday sale. Our Saatva Classic mattress review highlighted its impressive lumbar support, superior cooling and pressure relief, and the feeling of hotel-style luxury when sleeping on it. You can also customize the mattress further with three different firmness levels and two heights to suit your preferences.

Nectar Memory Foam Mattress
Nectar Memory Foam Mattress: was $699 now $499 at Nectar Sleep

Nectar has dropped its biggest sale of the year for Black Friday with up to 50% off across the store. That means you can come away with the manufacturer’s comfortable and affordable memory foam mattress from as little as $349 for a twin – with other sizes matching or beating previous record-low prices from earlier this year. Our four-star Nectar Mattress review praised the overall quality, excellent pressure relief and temperature regulation, and value for money. With the full-year trial, free returns and free shipping, there’s minimal risk if you want to try it yourself.

Purple Mattress
Purple Mattress: was $999 now $799 at Purple

Here’s a Black Friday mattress deal that should interest hot sleepers. The Purple Mattress is our number one pick when it comes to cooling mattresses and you can now get up to $400 off when you buy a mattress and base combined. Even without the base, you can save $200 and come away with one of the more affordable cooling mattresses available. It uses a smart GelFlex Grid that allows air to flow freely around you throughout the night and keeps you cool while you sleep. Other more premium options offer more thickness and a richer feel but those are considerably more expensive compared to this reasonably-priced brand.

Helix Midnight Mattress
Helix Midnight Mattress: was $932 now $680 at Helix Sleep

Side sleepers, you’re up next. The Helix Midnight is our top pick if this is your preferred sleeping style as it offers terrific overall support thanks to thick layers that cradle your body and contouring foam that even distributes pressure. With 27% off in the Black Friday sale (use code TECHRADAR27), various sizes are down to the lowest prices we’ve seen all year. Plus, you get two free pillows with your order and a 100-night free trial to see if it’s the right mattress for you.

DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress
DreamCloud Hybrid Mattress: was $1,395 now $649 at DreamCloud

DreamCloud has brought back its biggest sale for Black Friday with savings of up to 50% available on all mattresses. We’ve picked out the offer on the DreamCloud Hybrid in particular as this price cut makes it the best value-for-money hybrid mattress available now. It’s significantly cheaper than the equivalent mattress from premium brand Saatva while still offering an excellent level of comfort and support. Buy this if you want an affordable budget-friendly mattress without compromising too much on quality.

Tempur-Pedic Adapt
Tempur-Pedic Adapt: was $1,699 now $1,499 at Tempur-Pedic

Tempur-Pedic has brought back an offer we saw earlier this year for Black Friday that combines a $300 saving on its pressure-relieving Tempur-Adapt mattress and a free $300 bundle of bedding accessories. Outstanding pressure relief, balanced support and impressive motion isolation were three key features we highlighted in our Tempur-Adapt mattress review that also make it a smart buy for back sleepers. Cooling was a bit of an issue, though, so if you run hot this might not be the ideal one for you. Still, there’s a 90-day free trial should everything else sound just right and you want to give it a go risk-free.

Casper Snow
Casper Snow: was $1,875 now $1,310 at Casper

Casper has once again discounted all mattresses by 30% in its Black Friday sale. The one we’ve picked out from all the options is the Casper Snow, which is another excellent cooling mattress. Lots of clever tech work together as one to help it smartly disperse heat throughout the night, including a cooling Snow cover, HeatDelete bands and Phase Change Material. Well-implemented support zones and a hybrid design ensure comfort and support is impressive, too, making this a great all-rounder memory foam mattress.

Avocado Green Mattress
Avocado Green Mattress: was $1,399 now $1,189 at Avocado Mattress

While there are savings of up to $1,540 across the range at Avocado, we’re sticking to the manufacturer’s hero product, which is the Avocado Green. There’s a flat 15% off this organically certified mattress that helps you make a more eco-friendly purchase. It’s not all a gimmick, though, as we found in our Avocado Green Mattress review. There’s an impressive mattress to go along with the noble sustainability initiative, with a firm feel and minimal motion transfer that makes it ideal for back sleepers and heavy sleepers.

Siena Memory Foam Mattress
Siena Memory Foam Mattress: was $769 now $399 at Siena

We called this mattress “a steal” in our Siena Memory Foam Mattress review for offering almost five-star levels of comfort at a surprisingly low price – and the manufacturer’s Black Friday sale drops the price of a queen-size to $399. Even though it's one of the cheapest options available it still has high build quality, a firm and supportive feel, and superb motion isolation. That makes it better suited to front or back sleepers looking to do minimal damage to their bank balance, though side sleepers may want to look elsewhere for a softer option.

When do the Black Friday mattress deals start?

Many Black Friday mattress deals have already started for 2024. It used to be that the sales were usually held back until closer to the actual day itself – which is November 29 in 2024 – but nowadays Black Friday basically lasts for the whole month.

So, if you're browsing today then you should expect to see lots of Black Friday mattress deals already. Manufacturers may also label these as 'early' deals given were still near the start of November, but it's likely that then when these end they will simply roll over the same offers into the full Black Friday sale.

Where can I find the best Black Friday mattress deals?

Right here. Bookmark this page and check back, because we'll be keeping a very close eye on proceedings and updating our roundup with all the best deals as soon as they go live (as well as flagging those that aren't as good as they might appear). We've been covering mattress deals and monitoring prices for all the major brands for several years now, so we know which offers are worth paying attention to.

The best place to shop is direct from the brands themselves such as Saatva, Nectar, Casper, Purple, and more, as they'll usually match anything offered via a third-party retailer. However, it can be worth keeping an eye on places like Amazon to make sure you're not missing a bargain.

If pricing is the same, we always recommend buying direct from the brand rather than via a third-party retailer, because it makes things like trial periods and general customer service much more straightforward. Plus, you often get extra freebies when buying from the manufacturer, such as pillows, sheets and mattress protectors.

Should I wait for a Black Friday mattress deal?

Last year, the deals were pretty good. In general, prices have risen slightly, so it's rare to see historic lows. While mattresses might not be the cheapest they've ever been, we are expecting most brands to match or better their lowest price of the year.

If you're in a bit of a rush, don't panic. In most cases, there won't be a huge saving difference between the current deal and the Black Friday deal. So if you're just looking to make a good saving, and don't mind if the price drops again by another $50/£50, the early mattress Black Friday deals are well worth checking out – and you'll avoid any potential delivery delays later in November.

Is Black Friday the best time to buy a mattress?

Short answer: yes. Black Friday is a brilliant time to buy a new mattress. That’s because, as a rule, mattress prices are the lowest you’ll find them all year. However, Black Friday isn't the only time you'll be able to find a good discount – especially for US shoppers.

The President’s Day mattress sales in February often feature very low prices, as retailers look to entice people to start spending again after the holiday sales period. In fact, any national holiday normally has big mattress discounts – the classic is the Memorial Day mattress sales in May, but there are also July 4th mattress sales and Labor Day mattress sales to track at various points throughout the year.

Is it better to buy a mattress on Black Friday or before?

Most brands will launch their Black Friday prices from the start of November. So should you buy your mattress before Black Friday? The benefit of buying early is that by getting ahead of the rush, you might dodge a long delivery time. There's also the issue of stock selling out. This is rare – but not unheard of – but much more common if you're buying a discounted past-season model.

The risk of buying early is that it requires you to be able to tell when a brand has launched its Black Friday pricing. It won't always be clear, as often we'll see the name of a deal change but the offer itself stays the same.

We can help you out here. We've been covering Black Friday mattress sales for several years now and have a pretty good idea of how different brands behave, so we'll let you know when you're good to shop, and when you should hang on a bit.

How else can I save? Should I look for older models?

If you're shopping third party, in particular, you'll sometimes find mega discounts on older mattress models as retailers seek to shift dated stock. While the savings are appealing, make sure you read the small print. Often, these will be classed as 'final sale', which means you won’t be able to exchange, return or receive a price adjustment on it if isn't right, and it won't be covered by any warranties for existing or future damage.

If you're shopping for an older model, avoid being blinded by a massive discount, and remember to check the reviews to make sure you're not better off paying a little extra for a more modern and better-designed mattress.
