✅ You want the absolute best PS5 monitor on the market: The Alienware AW3225QF is on another level when it comes to overall quality for gaming. Its stupendous QD-OLED panel is best in class, and it has all the best specs for giving you the most premium PS5 monitor experience.
✅ You're looking for a curved screen that has it all: This monitor not only has all the top-level specs and amounts of port you could ever want for PS5 gaming (or on any other platform for that matter) but it also sports an immersion-enhancing, beautiful curved screen which will draw you into your games even further.
❌ You're looking for the best value premium PS5 monitor: While it can do it all and offer a premium experience, the AW3225QF is very expensive, and given that you'll really need to be on PC to get the absolute most out of its specs, there might well be a better value offering for you elsewhere if you're just on PS5.
Alienware’s AW3225QF is the best, top-tier, premium PS5 monitor money can buy right now. If you’re looking for the latest in monitor tech and something that offers everything in a 4K monitor, then this is it - it's glorious 4K, it's got a QD-OLED panel, it's beautifully curved, has all the ports you could need and channels everything that makes Alienware monitors (and Samsung OLED panels) fantastic.
In our testing we found the Alienware AW3225QF to be nothing short of spectacular. Across any game, at any refresh rate, the experience is truly wondrous and goes a long way to justify the monitor's high price of admission. Colors are fantastic and vibrant, in-game images and action are superbly detailed, and the crispness combined with the performance makes for a visual spectacle; the QD-OLED panel really is something special. The HDR options on offer are genuinely great too, and can help you find the perfect companion settings for basically any game - and streaming app too.
You'll get even more out of it if you're teaming it with a PC (if you have a graphics card that can help get the most out of it) as well as PS5 such as the 240Hz refresh rate, and G-Sync and FreeSync compatibility making it perfect for anyone who has both devices in one setup - and the best monitor for both too.
Its 32-inch screen size, curvature, and overall design make it a treat for the eyes from an aesthetic point of view too - and one that will match your PS5 perfectly. If you want the absolute best monitor for PS5 from any perspective, then this is it.

The best budget monitor for PS5

✅ You want a great value budget 4K monitor: The 4K experience can often be a pricey one, but not with the Asus TUF Gaming VG289Q which delivers an excellent 2160p experience on a shoestring, offering excellent value for money.
✅ You need an adjustable monitor, and one good for other media: The ability to move the VG289Q into almost any position you need a monitor to be is a superb string to the monitor's bow, and the panels punchy and rich colors make it super for all other media too.
❌ You're after a superfast 4K monitor: Limited to 60Hz the Asus TUF Gaming VG289Q won't be able to offer any super-fast frame rates for gaming, and its 5ms response time also holds it back from being a top-specced beast.
There's a lot to love about the Asus TUF Gaming VG289Q from its excellent color reproduction to its surprisingly sharp viewing angles. However, the main reason we can recommend this panel comes down to the price which, in our opinion, is truly hard to beat for what's on offer here.
The Asus TUF Gaming VG289Q retails for just $289 / £268.99 making it an incredibly cost-effective option for 4K gaming on your PS5. It's a value proposition that is very hard to argue with as you're getting particularly vibrant colors thanks to its 90% color gamut. The only real trade-off is that you're not getting true HDR. Instead, this budget display opts for simulated HDR functions that is, sadly, no replacement for the real thing.
The performance is where it counts, though, and gaming on this display is an absolute joy. Whether you're diving in to the latest Call of Duty or fan-favorite console exclusives like Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us Part 1, everything looks very sharp in motion. If you're after a display that won't break the bank, and can live without a high refresh rate, this is a great choice.

✅ You're going for the big-screen gaming experience: Sized like a TV but geared solely for gaming, the Aorus FV43U has a host of features (fast refresh rates, gaming-focused adjustments, and more) that will offer an enhanced big-screen PS5 experience.
✅ You're looking for top specs and performance: The Gigabyte Auros FV43U is a gaming monitor at its core, and so offers top specs aimed at gaming, like HDR capability, overall excellent image quality, and a host of inputs.
❌ You want to use it for other things: While some may appreciate the option to have several windows open simultaneously, this screen is simply too large to get things done when it comes to anything other than gaming and basic browsing.
The Gigabyte Aorus FV43U is our top pick for the best big-screen PS5 monitor. This model is equipped with a 4K (2160p) resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. When you combine that with the superb LED backlight as well as a 1ms response time and impressive built-in speakers, it's clear that this monitor is a fantastic choice for PS5 users.
When we tested the Gigabyte Aorus FV43U, we found that it was stunning to look at. At times, simulated HDR colors can look muted or washed out, but that's not the case here. The HDR10 is backed up by 1,000-bright LEDs, which truly delivers the vibrancy and the pop of color you would hope for at this price point.
The Gigabyte Aorus FV43U originally launched around the $1,100 / £1,000 / AU$1,699 mark when it debuted last year. It's now entirely possible to find this sizable screen coming in more commonly in the $749.99 / £669 price range. That's a pretty sum, sure, but, considering the quality of the display and the vibrancy of the screen, it's a very competitive price point when compared to your standard gaming TV.
While the Gigabyte Aorus FV43U may be a touch too large for some, we think this size of the monitor is absolutely ideal to really show off the capabilities of the PS5 console itself.

✅ You want the extra immersion of a curved screen: One of the main attributes of the effectiveness of the M32UC is the wonderful curved screen that draws in closer to the action.
✅ You need top specs and connectivity options: You'll get lots of ports here with HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort, and a wealth of USB ports represented, but also get great specs such as 144Hz refresh rate, and a Display HDR 400 rating.
❌ You don't want to tinker to get the best image: The wealth of settings the M32UC offers are a blessing and a curse giving you plenty of choices, but making it a little longwinded in finding the best and right picture settings for gaming.
The Gigabyte M32UC is a superb curved gaming monitor for any platform but offers a seriously compelling value proposition for PS5 users looking for a dedicated gaming screen.
Coming in way cheaper than any gaming TVs, you're getting a full 4K resolution, a super smooth 144Hz refresh rate (so above the PS5's maximum of 120Hz), a robust HDR rating, plenty of ports, and that sweet 32-inch 1500R curved 4K VA screen.
It can take a bit of tinkering and effort to get the best picture, but once we get the screen where we wanted it settings-wise, we were blown away by the visual fidelity on offer from the busiest of urban environments in Cyberpunk 2077 to the expansive vistas in Forza Horizon 5. In short, the M32UC will make whatever PS5 games you play absolutely shine.

✅ You want a 1440p teamed with an OLED panel
If you've been looking for a combo of OLED and 2K resolution in one gaming monitor then this is an exceptional screen in that regard, and boosted by a whole host of great gaming specs elsewhere.
✅ You want a 1440p monitor for dual PS5 and PC use
While the Inzone M10S really shines in its own right as a PS5 monitor, it's particularly excellent at servicing a dual PS5 and PC setup with the speeds being blistering on the latter, and the OLED panel shining on the former.
❌ You're not fussed about esports performance on PC
The Inzone M10S really shines when it can have all of its specs fully unleashed on PC and PS5. If you're not too fussed about having incredibly quick specs and speeds then you'll likely find better value elsewhere.
If you're looking for the very best 1440p PS5 monitor then look no further than the Sony Inzone M10S. Combining that excellent mid-way resolution with a beautiful OLED panel, this screen walks the line beautifully between offering high-quality images for single-player games, and blistering speeds for esports and competitive play.
While not sharing its predecessor's, the Inzone M9, PS5-like aesthetic, it has a brilliant stand that's small and understated but offers great adjustability, and it also retains a bunch of Sony's PS5-focused features. The latter includes variable refresh rate (VRR), and an automatic PS5 mode which will automatically calibrate HDR, brightness, and contrast for games. There are also all the necessary ports for PS5 (and PC) and it's G-Sync compatible too.
Throughout our testing, we couldn't fault the M10S in the slightest. No matter what we played or tested, the monitor excelled. The OLED panel is brilliant for slower-paced single-player games making environments look stunning on PS5 with glorious HDR and color representation, while the monitor really comes to life when playing competitive shooters like Counter-Strike 2, Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant with its 0.03ms response time and offering a frame rate ceiling of 480fps to give you plenty of headway (our testing on PC allowed us to reach those heights at 1440p but this will depend on your PC's specs).
It's a premium panel through and through and that is represented in its price tag too; at $1,099.99 / £1,199 it does cost a pretty penny, but we think it justifies that investment totally.

✅ You're conscious of your monitor looking good while performing: The Dell 4K S3221QS will ensure you get a great-looking peripheral on your desk while giving you excellent image quality too.
✅ You're looking for a curved 4K monitor at good value: Curved 4K monitors are only starting to gain pace and more numbers in the past year or so, and the Dell S3221QS is a great example of one that's available without breaking the bank.
❌ You're looking for something with top refresh and HDR specs: Despite its qualities the Dell S3221QS doesn't offer HDR capabilities or a fast refresh rate, being capped at 60Hz.
If you're in the market for a mid-range PS5 monitor that offers exceptional value for money then the Dell S3221QS is an excellent pick.
Our testing found that the spacious 32-inch curved display made for excellent multimedia viewing and gaming - making this a great choice if you intend to use your PS5 for video streaming. The 1800R curvature is a big draw too, as it creates a remarkably pleasant and highly immersive experience. As far as curved screens at budget prices go, you can't really get much better than this.
Given the low price, there are some obvious sacrifices to consider though. The main cost-saving measure (as opposed to some pricier panels) is the 60Hz refresh rate. As relatively few PS5 games make full use of the console's 120Hz cap, we think that this is a fair compromise for the saving that you're getting. Our testing also found that the Dell S3221QS offers one of the sharpest-looking displays on the market.
The best monitor for PS5 for productivity

✅ You want a big, practical screen for work as well as play: At 32 inches this is a sizeable desk monitor, and so will offer an immersive gaming experience as well as a huge amount of screen real estate for work.
✅ You want 4K resolution with 144Hz refresh rate: If you're looking to push the PS5 to the limit and ensure you have the chance to run that sweet 4K resolution at super-fast frame rates, then the Gigabyte Aorus FI32U can offer exactly that.
❌ You want HDR to make your games shine: The monitor's lack of HDR capability is a disappointment and will likely put off anybody who has got used to the tech from modern TVs.
If you've been looking for a feature-packed adjustable PS5 monitor that's also great for productivity and work, then the Gigabyte Aorus FI32U is for you. On top of the added versatility that its adjustable nature brings, the 4K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate mean that there are plenty of other reasons to consider this beyond the versatility.
The stunning RGB lighting, which emanates from both the back and sides of the display, is also a big draw - allowing for an added layer of cosmetic customisation. There is a lot you can do with this particular panel which makes it easy to fit in to your existing gaming setup.
For example, not only do you have several dedicated gaming modes but the ability to swivel and pivot the screen, as well as adjust the height. This means you have a wealth of options for how you want your PS5 games to look and can set the display at an angle that best suits your desk.
The Gigabyte Aorus F132U may sound as though it's at the premium end of the spectrum, but, in 2024, that couldn't be further from the truth. You can now pick up this feature-rich display for well below its retail price. What's more, it is often subject to deep discounts that can bring the price down even further. While you're not getting any hint of HDR here, our testing found that the colors still look great.

How to choose the best monitor for PS5
The gaming monitor market is a particularly full one so if you're looking to dip your tow in the PS5 monitor pool, it can be daunting when approaching the question of which one to buy. As a result, if you approach the process with a few key factors in mind, you should be able to whittle down your choices quickly and helpfully.
Size
A big deal, and one that might matter slightly 'more' than with a TV. Whereas I've never heard anyone complain of their TV being too big (really), the proximity that you sit to your PS5 monitor means that there's more to think about. There's only so much screen the human eyes can take in at any given distance after all - there's a reason that some pro gamers use 24-inch screens. Anyway, think carefully about where your PS5 monitor will be placed, and how far you are going to be from it. We reckon 32-inch screens are probably the sweet spot for not being too overbearing or space hungry, while also allowing the PS5 to output superbly. That said, a 27- or 28-inch screen could well be more than enough for your setup.
Compatibility and flexibility
This mainly comes down to answering the question of whether you will also use the monitor for your PC. If you are then you'll likely want to - and benefit from - aligning your PC needs with your PS5 gaming needs. Think about best screen for playing PC games (and possibly work) but also for PS5; think about flat vs curved screens; and think about key specs that you might want for PC (higher refresh rate, for example) and whether a monitor can hit that as well as what you want from your PS5 (higher resolution, perhaps).
Budget
It's an obvious one but it's a key one. Always have a budget in mind that you want to spend, and then an amount that you'd be happy going to. If you go beyond these then things can start to spiral. You can always look to specs to trade off them against price, and you can always see if you can save longer and hold out until the next sales event, such as Prime Day or Black Friday.
Key Specs
A good way to approach what specs you most need from a PS5 monitor is to (broadly) think along the lines of graphical fidelity and quality vs super smooth framerates. While you can get all-singing, all-dancing monitors that will do both, if you really concentrate on what's more important to you, then you can remove whole swathes of monitors in one fell swoop. If, for example, like me, you value higher resolutions and picture detail over frame rates, then you can focus on those 4K monitors with lower frame rates happily. If the reverse is the case, then you'll immediately be scanning the right fast refresh rate monitors.
How we test the best monitors for PS5
We've chosen the best monitors for PS5 based on rigorous testing of all the models featured. There are a lot of different brands to consider including Dell, Gigabyte, and Sony, which all have their own unique features. That's why we've made our choices with careful consideration of a wide range of preferences and budgets.
We test PS5 monitors for the features we think would best service the end user. That includes aspects of image quality, refresh rate, resolution, and ancillary features like HDR. Of course, we take price into account, too. If it strikes us that you wouldn't get your money's worth, then the product won't be featured on this ever-evolving list.
With that said, we update our PS5 monitor guide regularly to ensure that only the very best products are featured. In every case, we strive to spotlight products that we've had plenty of hands-on time with.

Best monitors for PS5 - Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best monitor for PS5?
Our top choice for the best monitor for PS5 is the Gigabyte Aorus FV43U, but you might have particular preferences that make the other options here better for you. However, this monitor boasts superb image quality and offers real HDR for more vivid contrast and truer, accurate blacks, which help to increase immersion in your favorite games. When looking for a PS5 monitor, this should be the first one to at least check out before making any purchasing decisions.
Is a 144Hz monitor best for PS5?
144Hz monitors can be pricier due to the higher refresh rate capabilities, but they're well worth considering. The console now supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) which helps compatible displays reach that 144Hz mark with minimal impact on overall performance, making your gaming experience far more streamlined.
Is it worth buying a monitor for PS5?
Yes, it absolutely is worth buying a monitor for PS5 - if your context and setup is right for it. If you have a work and play setup, for example, where you want a screen for both work and play then a PS5 monitor could be the one-and-done solution you need. However, on a more technical level, the best monitors for PS5 can offer excellent matches for the PlayStation 5 in terms of specs like refresh rates, response times, and HDR (depending on what brand and model you choose of course).
Should I get a 4K monitor or 4K TV for PS5?
Generally, monitors are cheaper than gaming TVs. This rule applies to 4K TVs in particular, which are a pricey way to reach top-notch image quality on PS5. Most monitors in our list support 4K resolution and are worth looking into if you're interested in saving both space and money compared to a 4K TV.
Is PS5 better on a monitor or TV?
You can get equally awesome experiences out of your PlayStation 5 with a monitor or a TV. While PlayStation home consoles have been built with a TV in mind, they fare exceptionally well with gaming monitors, and especially those 4K ones that can help the console perform to the maximum of its ability. However, the reality is that you just need to decide what your prioritize most before selecting the screen: is it being screen gaming, with less of a focus on fast frames? Then choose a big 4K TV. Is it getting the fastest framerate possible for competitive play? A speedy 1080p gaming monitor might well be the best for you.
Is IPS or VA better for PS5?
Each monitor has its own panel, and each panel type is different, and comes with their own pros and cons. Some are stronger in some areas than others, ultimately. And that's the same for PS5 monitors, especially if you're choosing between IPS and VA panels. Trying to be as brief, and as helpful as possible, both can be excellent for use with a PS5, but it depends on what you want out of your screen's images. IPS panels are typically better for color reproduction and accuracy, and a picture's vibrancy; while VA panels offer super contrasts and possibly deeper blacks.
Is a curved or flat screen better for a PS5 monitor?
By default many PS5 monitors are flat screen models - and they are brilliant. Some of the best monitor for any kind of gaming are flat, and they continue to offer brilliant performance and immersion.
Curved screens however, can offer even more immersion due to their ability to 'pull' you into the screen more. Personally, since I've had curved screens, I can't envision going back to a flat one as having games and work pointed toward my eyes by default.
Having said that, they both perform brilliantly, often have very similar specs and can perform excellently across all platforms. This choice often comes down to preference so stick with your gut instinct.
