No, you're not going crazy, Black Friday in Singapore was indeed only a few months ago. Yet here we are already looking ahead to the same huge shopping weekend that sees virtually all retailers in Singapore slashing the prices of a huge range of items.

Why are we jumping the gun so early? Well, it never hurts to get fully prepared early, such as taking stock of what new releases will arrive in 2025, and which of those will likely see tantalising discounts come November. We can use previous Black Friday sales in Singapore to make some logical assumptions, including which retailers should be at the top of your lists.

Black Friday is a huge deal in Singapore. Statista claimed 41% of shoppers in Singapore were planning to seek out discounts during the shopping weekend in 2024, ahead of both the US (36%) and the UK (32%). Global market research company Milieu Insight says fashion (60%), personal care products (58%) and our favourite, electronics (56%) are the three most popular product categories – fortunately we're on hand to help with that latter category.

So, what can you expect for this year's Black Friday sale in Singapore? Read on to find out more.

When will Black Friday 2025 sales start in Singapore?

Black Friday lands on the Friday directly after the US holiday Thanksgiving, which takes place on the fourth Thursday of November each year. The official Black Friday date falls on November 28 in 2025, though we’ve seen deals have been popping up from the end of October. It's been deals central in Singapore in the final quarter of the year, with the 11.11 Singles Day sales falling earlier in November.

Are Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales held in Singapore?

What initially started as an American tradition has spread globally, and over the last eight years, Black Friday has only grown more popular in Singapore. A variety of major retailers jump in to offer deals, with Amazon, Lazada, Harvey Norman, Microsoft and many more jumping in to offer bargains across the entire month of November, including the actual Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend.

Clearly, right now it's anyone's guess as to which products will see discounts during Black Friday and Cyber Monday in Singapore this year. For now we can use previous sales to inform our predictions, and we'll have other sales throughout the year that will give us a good indication. These other sales include Amazon Prime Day and even the matching-date shopping events such as 9.9 sales.

While Singaporeans are facing some economic pressures, shoppers are still turning out to snatch deals on small appliances, TVs, consoles, laptops and more throughout 2025.

Coming into Black Friday, we expect to see further discounts on TVs from brands such as LG, TCL, Sony and Samsung. We'll of course be hoping to see discounts on new 2025 releases so watch this space. Games consoles should be big-hitters, too, especially with the launch of the PlayStation 5 Pro towards the end of 2024 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. While Sony's latest console may not get the discount treatment, its arrival should mean greater savings on the current models.

Laptops are another category that tends to receive excellent savings during Black Friday, especially from brands such as Lenovo, which always seems to be holding a sale of some description throughout the year. We're hoping the company will go all-out when Black Friday rolls around. You never know, Apple MacBooks may also come down in price, watch this space.

As for audio, Black Friday in 2025 will undoubtedly be a fantastic time to pick up the best headphones. We regularly see multiple discounts on the Sony WH-1000XM5 and Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless throughout the year in Singapore, so we'd be very surprised if these discounts didn't get even better. The Ultra Headphones and Earbuds from Bose should also do well, but we'll also be keeping our eyes peeled for savings on budget-focused pairs, too, such as the Nothing Ear (a).

Throughout the year brands such as Dyson, Ecovacs, Tineco and Roborock have all offered discounts across cordless vacuums, steam floor cleaners and robot vacuums, both through marketplaces such as Shopee or Lazada and directly from the source. It’s highly likely some of these deals will be beaten during Black Friday.

Black Friday vs Amazon Prime Day: Which is better?

Amazon Prime Day is an Amazon-exclusive sale, so while you might find some retailers matching deals, they’re not officially part of that sale. It’s also typically full of Prime member-exclusive deals. Black Friday, on the other hand, is a major shopping event where any and all retailers can jump in, including Amazon. The deals from Amazon SG also won’t all be locked behind a Prime membership, though Prime members might find some extra savings on hot ticket items.

Black Friday is typically the biggest shopping event of the year, but for the best deals on Amazon-branded devices such as Kindle ereaders or Echo smart speakers, Amazon Prime Day generally has the best offerings.

Sony Bravia 8 (65-inch): SG$5,999 SG$4,399 (SG$1,600 off)
Sony's incredible 2024 OLED TV received a monster discount last year, which was great to see considering it hadn't been on the market all that long. We did see greater discounts on other models from other brands, but the Bravia 8 was, and still is, such a special TV that we had to include it here.

Sennheiser Ambeo Mini Soundbar:

Sennheiser Ambeo Mini soundbar: SG$1,299 SG$599 (SG$700 off)

The smallest member of Sennheiser's Ambeo soundbar range delivers a serious punch. Harvey Norman SG delivered a similarly heavy punch in the form of a SG$700 discount, making it such an easy recommendation. We've not heard of any plans for Sennheiser to replace its soundbars, so here's hoping this model gets the same discount treatment this year.

Dyson Supersonic: SG$599 SG$539 (SG$60 off)

Admittedly not the biggest discount ever, but Dyson SG did also include some extra accessories worth SG$248 with this hairdryer. With the Supersonic ageing another year this year, we're hopeful it will receive an extra bigger discount come November.

Tineco Floor Oe S7 Pro: SG$1,199 SG$799.90 (SG$399.10 off)

We're fans of Tineco vacuums and so we're always on the hunt for them during sales events. This discount on the Tineco Floor One S7 Pro proved we were right to do so. It's one helluva vacuum cleaner, doing everything you could want and more, as it's capable of vacuuming, mopping, deodorising and even disinfecting your floors quickly and efficiently.

Ecovacs Deebot T30 Pro Omni: SG$3,299 SG$1,138.88 (SG$2,160.12 off)

This Ecovacs robo-vac was a particular highlight during the previous Black Friday sale for anyone looking for a powerful, feature-packed robot vacuum cleaner. It will vacuum and mop, has a new anti-tangle bar brush and suction power has been increased to a whopping 11,000Pa.

Apple AirPods Pro 2: SG$349 SG$287 (SG$62 off)

Shopee SG brought the price of the popular AirPods Pro 2 down to one of the cheapest prices we've seen in Singapore. Always a hot-ticket item, we'll be expecting much of the same later in the year.

Image

JBL Flip 6: SG$205 SG$128.50 (SG$76.50 off)

One of our favourite Bluetooth speakers, the JBL Flip 6 is portable, powerful and protected against dust and water. Pair two or more together for a fuller, even more powerful sound.
