Nintendo Switch 2 - Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition restocks live — latest updates as more consoles are expected this week
Get ready for a Zelda 40th Switch 2 restock from November 5
The big day here. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has launched on Nintendo Switch 2, which means there's a good chance we'll see a restock of the beautiful Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition of the console. If you're still on the hunt for one yourself, we'll be bringing you all the latest stock updates right here, as more consoles are expected at retailers over the next few days.
1. US restock quick links
2. UK restock quick links
3. Live updates
The good news is that restocks have been confirmed this week. In the US, we know that the Switch 2 was available at some retailers yesterday, and there's word of a Target restock today. There should be some availability at Walmart too, but not until at least November 6.
As for the UK, the limited-edition Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 has been popping up in and out of stock over the last few weeks. I think that the ones to keep an eye on for the best chance of bagging the console are Amazon, Argos, and Smyths Toys.
Whatever happens over the next few days, we're poised and ready to bring you all the latest on restocks and availability. Below, you'll find all the key retailer links to bookmark and follow, as well as live updates from me as I track every restock as and when it happens.

LIVE: Latest Updates
Alright, Jacob Krol, I'm stepping in as we run through the availability of the Nintendo Switch 2 Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition in the United States. I've been refreshing Target's page every so often, and I've seen the shipping option come in and out here and there. So it's definitely worth a visit.
GameStop currently shows coming soon, while Nintendo's own digital store, Best Buy, and Amazon show sold out. We're holding out hope for Walmart as well, but no movement there either.

I'm going to have to step away from our live coverage for the time being - I hope you got your unit and if you didn't, keep checking the links on this page!
Aaaaaaand it's gone...
That was a fleeting re-appearance at Amazon UK as it has now disappeared from that Buying Options tab.
Amazon UK is back!
It's back in at Amazon UK!
You'll have to go into the 'See All Buying Options' tab but Amazon UK has stock of the console right now!
- 📦Amazon: pre-order for £499.99📦
Time for a sit-rep!
I do think Target is done now but it's worth keeping the tab open for an occasional refresh (I had success at retailers with this method during the great PS5 shortage of 2020 and 2021).
Walmart is not only still yet to show any signs of a restock, but also any signs of reviving the product's own URL...
Hmm, consider my eyebrow raised.
Don't close your Target tabs completely
I always say it's worth sticking with those retailers who have recently had restocks, and it might be that you'll see flashes of stock come back at Target...
- 🎯Target: pre-order for $519.99🎯
Another rumor enters the room...
We've spotted some keen folks on Reddit speaking about their experiences with Walmart regarding 40th Anniversary stock, and another rumor with a date has appeared.
A Redditor has shared that their local Walmart informed them that they won't have any more stock until November 30 — which is ages away! That'd be disappointing, but it only relates to potentially in-store only, perhaps, so online is worth camping on, in our view.
All eyes on Walmart next...
If Target is totally done, then our heads are going to turn to Walmart, as it is strongly rumored — I repeat, rumored — to be having a stock drop today.
It's already hard to predict on the retailer's website, though, so to speak, as it seems to have killed its Zelda Switch 2 console webpage for some reason....
Nonetheless, that is still the best page, linked below, to camp on, while this general Nintendo Switch 2 page is not a bad one to have open either.
- 🔆Walmart: restock expected Nov 6🔆
That might be it...
I think Target may have finished with this restock... It might be worth trying multiple zip codes if that's appropriate and doable for you but that might be it...
- 🎯Target: pre-order for $519.99🎯
Target has stock!
Target is a-go with online stock! Act quick to get your Zelda Switch 2 console!

Early US tips - Walmart and Target
We reckon that Target and Walmart are the ones to watch today in the US for anyone on that side of the pond looking for a tip.
We had good intel that Target would be dropping today and folks on Reddit have shared some success stories ,but what is worth looking at for Target is in-store stock levels for zip codes.
Walmart is also one to keep close tabs on as there were (unverified) rumors that the giant retailer was gearing up for a restock...
All quiet on the UK front so far
I've checked the UK retailers repeatedly this morning and there's not been a peep of stock.
I'd still be hovering over their pages though just in case - it is launch week after all and as good a time as any to release any stock or new inventory, into the wild.
*Even* I'm interested
Regular stock-hunting and pre-ordering readers will know that I, Rob, am keen on a limited edition or special edition bit of hardware. And even as a non-Nintendoer, the Zelda edition has caught my eye; IK can really see why the demand has been so high, even with the added Zelda weight behind it!
Good morning Zelda Switch 2 console hunters!
Hello everyone! Welcome back to our live coverage of possible, potential, and confirmed Switch 2 Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition restocks!
This is Rob, taking over from the sterling work of James and Dash, and I'll be doing my best to guide you throughout the day and hopefully help you secure your unit.
After that brief flurry of activity, I'm about to wrap up things for the day here. We'll be back tomorrow to continue the stock hunt now that we know more is coming — at least at Target, and maybe more stores.
In the meantime, keep an eye on those links above as there could be some surprise small drops before then.
An update on GameStop
The buy button on the GameStop listing page for the Zelda Switch 2 has just changed from saying in-store only to 'coming soon'. That could be a sign that the retailer will have the console available to buy online in the near future. Definitely one to keep an eye on throughout the day and into tomorrow.
Well, that didn't last long. In the minutes since that update, it's already showing as sold out again at the Nintendo Store. There's a promise of more on the way soon, though, so I'd keep that page open for now in case it drops again.
Nintendo Store US has stock now
Here we go! The Zelda Switch 2 is showing as in stock at the Nintendo Store in the US. Good luck!
- 🧑🔧Nintendo Store: in stock for $519.99🧑🔧
Any thoughts on the game?
I haven't managed to get around to playing Ocarina of Time on the Switch 2 just yet, but all the reviews make it sound outstanding. I nearly did a playthrough of the original N64 version a couple of months ago but ran out of momentum to keep it going. This remaster seems like the best way to pick it up again, but I wonder what you're all thinking of the game so far if you've had a chance to play it?
Here's the controller, if you're looking for that
Another sought-after item from the Zelda 40th Anniversary collection is the limited-edition Switch 2 Pro Controller. The initial run of that sold out extremely fast, too, but there is some availability right now at Walmart. There's a low stock message on the page already, so I don't expect this to last long.
- Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Pro Controller: $99 at Walmart
An update from Target
Target has just updated its listing page to confirm that a restock of the Zelda Switch 2 will be available both in-store and online from tomorrow, November 6. There's no confirmed time for either sale, so it would be wise to try opening time at your local store and stick right here for updates on the online sale.
- 🎯Target: restock confirmed Nov 6🎯
I do keep seeing that listing pop up at Amazon UK, but it disappears very quickly every time. If you're fast enough, you may be able to nab it. That's still been the only 'restock' I've seen so far, but my search continues.
Still very little to speak about since that temporary showing at Amazon UK.
For those in the US starting to wake up, your best option for today is to check in-store at the likes of Best Buy, Target, and GameStop for consoles. Online sales might be coming today or tomorrow at the earliest. Meanwhile, the official Nintendo Store is promising a restock soon, and you can currently register your details for updates.
I'm getting an error trying to add that Amazon listing to my basket now, so it might already be sold out. It could pop up again over the next few minutes as any unwanted purchases are not put through, so do keep checking for now.
In stock at Amazon UK...at a markup
I'm seeing the Zelda Switch 2 available to buy on Amazon UK right now. You have to click the 'see all buying options' button on the listing, and then the official Amazon one is at the top for £499.99. That's the markup price the retailer insists on charging for the console, but it's the only availability I see in the UK right now.
- 📦Amazon: in stock for £499.99📦
OK, I'll say it, it's been a disappointing start to the day with these restocks. I appreciate it is still very early, but I thought we would've had at least something by now. The wait continues...
Keep an eye on the Nintendo Store in the UK
I got put in a very short queue for the Nintendo Store in the UK, so I hoped it might restock soon, but there's still no sign of anything at the official store. One to keep an eye on, though.
Outside of that, there's no sign of consoles at any other retailers just yet, but it's still early days...
Good morning, let's get console hunting
Hey everyone, happy Ocarina of Time launch day! I'm back and fully rested, ready for a day of refreshing retailers with the hopes of seeing some restocks. I'll take a look now and bring you any new updates I spot.
Here's what we know about GameStop
Checking the listing page for the Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 on GameStop shows that it will only be available in-store when it restocks. If you click the button and enter your details, you should see any nearby availability, though your best bet is to head into a store from tomorrow to see if consoles are in stock.
- 🎮GameStop: in-store restock only🎮
Any news on Walmart?
A recent Reddit post suggested that Walmart would not get any more Zelda Switch 2 consoles until at least November 6, as the retailer was struggling to fulfil all existing preorders. Once that date passes though, there's a chance any remaining consoles will be put up for sale, so if you want to buy from Walmart, I'd keep an eye on them from Friday.
- 🔆Walmart: restock expected Nov 6🔆
Nintendo Store in the US has stock on the way
It's been relatively quiet on the official Nintendo Store in the US since the first wave on Zelda 40th consoles dropped. The latest update from the House of Mario confirms that more inventory is on the way, although a date has not been announced. I expect it will be on or around November 5, though, so it'll be one to keep an eye on tomorrow.

And here's our review
And the game doesn't only look good, it's phenomenal to play, too. Josie gave it the full five stars in our The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time review. Have a read here if you need to build up your excitement any more ahead of the launch tomorrow.
We've been talking a lot about the limited edition hardware, but what about the game?
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time releases very soon, and it looks like an excellent remake with shiny new graphics and a few new features.
You can see it in action with the official overview trailer below:
Is a Target restock definitely happening?
Unfortunately, the best answer I can provide right now is: potentially.
For a very brief moment, the retailer updated its listing page for the Zelda Switch 2 to state that an in-store restock was planned for November 5, with online sales to follow on November 6. That's now been removed, though, so it's unclear if that's still the plan.
Either way, I'll be keeping an eye out for updates — and you can do the same using the link below.
- 🎯Target: restock expected Nov 5🎯
One for the night owls...
If you're caught up in the Ocarina of Time excitement and want a copy on the stroke of midnight, Best Buy will be holding late-night store openings for the launch. As part of that, the retailer has confirmed it will have limited availability of some of the 40th anniversary items, including the Switch 2 console. It could be your best chance to get one if you have a local store that's taking part in the midnight launch
Welcome to our live coverage
