Things have well and truly hotted up in the UK, and if you haven't yet sorted out a fan for your home, what are you doing? At the start of the week, we were unexpectedly blessed with a whole load of fan discounts, courtesy of Prime Day and rival sales events from other retailers. Now, many of those offers have sold out, but there are still a handful available to buy... if you're quick. Below, I've rounded up the best options from Amazon and beyond, focusing on trusted brands and well-reviewed products, and including pedestal, tower and desktop fans.

Pedestal fans are probably what you think of when you think of a fan — a circular fan head on a skinny stand. They're easy to move from room to room, and some models can be adjusted in height for directed cooling where you need it. A tower fan looks a little smarter (and indeed, is more likely to have smart features), and is designed to live in a permanent spot in the corner of a room. A desktop fan sits on a tabletop for more localised cooling; for example to blast at your face while you're working from home.

Fans don't lower the temperature in a room, but they will make you feel cooler by helping the sweat evaporate from your skin faster.
