Napoli vs Juventus live stream: match preview

Serie A's top two meet in one of Italian football's marquee fixtures on Friday evening as table toppers Napoli host Juventus knowing that a win will go a long way towards ending what will be a 33-year wait for a scudetto by the end of the season. Yet, you can never write off the visitors, who have recovered from an inconsistent start to the season to win eight Serie A games in a row. Italian football doesn't get much bigger than this, so read on to find out how to get a Napoli vs Juventus live stream today and watch Serie A online from anywhere.

The teams are in and Napoli start with Victor Osimhen, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Matteo Politano as their front three. Giovanni Di Lorenzo captains the side from right-back with Kim Min-jae continuing in the middle. Piotr Zielinski gets the nod in midfield.

For Juventus, meanwhile, Angel Di Maria and Arkadiusz Milik start up front with Dusan Vlahovic not fit enough to make the starting XI. Filip Kostic starts as a left-wing-back, with Manuel Locatelli in the middle of midfield alongside Weston McKennie.

A club once buried by the memory of Diego Maradona, is now inspired by it as Napoli edge ever close to winning Serie A in the stadium that now bears the Argentinian great's name. Maradona won his second scudetto in 1990, but the Little Donkeys have felt cursed in the intervening 33 years with calamitous collapses undermining regular title tilts featuring Edinson Cavani, Marek Hamsik, Dries Mertens and Kalidou Koulibaly. The current vintage may lack some of those star names, but top scorer Victor Osimhen, next-big-thing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo have combined to top Serie A by seven points from the Old Lady. They lost their only league game against Inter 10 days ago, avoiding another will go a long to wrapping up that title.

Juve will hope the ghost of 2017/18 still haunts Napoli, who let a six-point lead halfway through the season slip and gift the Old Lady the title. Max Allegri's side began this campaign in stuttering form winning just two of their first seven matches, the nadir coming with a 1-0 defeat at newly promoted Monza, owned by bunga-bunga king Silvio Berlusconi. Since then, things have improved dramatically as the Turin side enter this vital fixture on an eight-game winning run in Serie A. Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik have seven goals each in all competitions this season, with US international midfielder Weston McKennie increasingly prominent.

Juve would move to within four points of a nervous Napoli with a win, but victory for the Little Donkeys would extend their lead over their opponents to 10 points and all-but end any scudetto hopes for the Old Lady.
