Benro has made a name for itself by producing high-quality yet affordable tripods. This monopod follows suit, with a tough and rigid build based on four leg sections.
The clamps all work very efficiently, enabling smooth extension and rock-solid locking.
The monopod weighs 590g and extends from 56-158cm, courtesy of leg sections ranging from 20-29mm in diameter.
The maximum load rating of 4.5kg may look a bit meagre compared with the Giottos and Manfrotto monopods we tested, but a crucial difference is that the Benro includes a ball head - although in practice it would be able to take a much higher load were this not fitted.
Overall, it's a solid and versatile piece of kit that's a steal at the price.
Pros… Strong, well-engineered and includes a ball head.
Cons… Being picky, a quick-release plate would be nice.
