2022 Moto G may soon launch in India as well as in the global markets
Expected to be priced lower than the last generation model
Motorola recently updated the G-series of smartphones by announcing the Moto G52 5G in Europe. Now, images of the next device codenamed Austin, hint that the Lenovo-owned smartphone manufacturer may launch the phone soon. This device is expected to be the 2022 Moto G 5G smartphone.
These appear to be product images from the official website and give a lot of insight into the design and a few features of the smartphone. According to the report by 91Mobiles, tipster Evan Blass has been able to source the images of the 2022 Moto G which has a striking resemblance to the Moto G71 and the Moto Edge 30 Pro. The enclosure around the cameras, the side-mounted fingerprint scanner and the plastic body with possible IP52 water resistance.
The report also says that the 2022 Moto G 5G sports a 6.53-inch HD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It is unclear if the device will continue to support HDR10, but this is a slight step-down from last year’s model which offered a FullHD+ resolution with a slightly bigger display. The older generation had a lower 60Hz refresh rate. It could be that the company did make a few compromises to add 90Hz to the display this time.
The 2022 Moto G 5G may run on the Dimensity 700 SoC coupled with either 4GB RAM or 6GB RAM. When it comes to internal storage, the report states that the base variant could come with 64GB but the Motorola could offer a variant with up to 256GB.
Camera specifications of the 2022 Moto G 5G are slated to include a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens and another 2-megapixel shooter for depth sensing. The front-facing camera might have a 13-megapixel lens for selfie pictures as well as video calls.
Coming to the battery, it appears that the device supports fast-charging up to 15W only and comes with a 5,000 mAh capacity. There is currently no additional information with regards to other features, but it won’t be long before the device could make its way to the Indian markets as well.
Minor changes to lower the price tag
The company may be making minor changes to the device this year to lower the price tag. One such change is to lower the resolution to HD and we are hopeful that HDR10 is here to stay as well.

When considering a Motorola smartphone, the primary feature that everyone is more interested in is the stock Android experience and software update support that the company promises. Luckily, the 2022 Moto G 5G may not be any different from any of the other G-series smartphones and we can expect it to hold up for the next few years.
