It is finally confirmed that Samsung will bring the successor to the Galaxy M52 5G smartphone to India. After teasing the launch of the Galaxy M53 5G a couple of days ago, the company today confirmed that the phone will debut on April 22 at 12 noon. The smartphone will be available on Samsung’s Online store and Amazon later.

This would be the second M-series smartphone to be refreshed after the Galaxy M33 5G, which was launched this month

While we’ve come across renders hinting at the design of the smartphone, the new promotional video and images of the device do confirm some of the features coming to the smartphone.

It can now be confirmed that the Galaxy M53 5G will come with a quad-camera setup but may borrow the raised uni-design enclosure like the Galaxy A-series smartphones. In terms of specifications, the Galaxy M53 5G is expected to feature the Dimensity 900 SoC making it the company’s first smartphone to feature a MediaTek chipset.

The device features a 6.7-inch 120Hz FullHD+ Super AMOLED+ display. It may launch only with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage but may support expandable memory via a microSD card.

The camera setup on the phone is confirmed to feature a primary 108-megapixel camera, a secondary 8-megapixel camera for ultrawide shots and two other cameras for macro and depth-sensing each having a 2-megapixel lens.

Powering all the hardware within the smartphone may be a 5,000 mAh battery pack that supports 25W fast charging. However, we may not see the charging adapter in the box just like the recently announced M33 5G.

Pricing is crucial for its success

While the Galaxy M52 5G had a good standing in the market for providing a really good chipset, a high refresh rate AMOLED display and capable cameras all packed at a competitive price.

We expect that the phone might be available in the mid-range price segment, however, since this is a highly competitive and price-sensitive segment, we expect Samsung to follow the mantra and price the phone aggressively.
