Tecno is known for its budget smartphone segment. The brand has rolled out a new smartphone, Tecno Phantom X, which packs high-end specifications. For starters, the smartphone seems like a gaming device as it has a smart cooling solution.

Apart from that, the smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G95 processor. It is being boasted as Tecno's first premium offering as the device gets a curved display. The smartphone also has a dual front camera setup at the front for delivering high-quality shots.

It is available in the Indian market for a price of Rs 25,999. The device has a single variant, including 8GB RAM paired with 256GB internal storage.

The first sale of the smartphone is scheduled to be held on May 4. It will be exclusively available online on Amazon. The smartphone is being shipped in two colour options - Summer Sunset and Iceland Blue.

Tecno Phantom X specifications

The Tecno Phantom X sports a 6.7-inches FHD+ curved AMOLED display coupled with a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone packs 8GB LPDDR4X RAM along with 256GB UFS 2.1 internal storage. The smart cooling solution offered in the device is based on a heat pipe and covers the key area that gets heated.

In terms of optics, Phantom X flaunts a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary shooter, 8MP ultra wide-angle shooter, and a 13MP portrait shooter. The smartphone rocks a dual front camera setup at the front, including a 48MP primary snapper and an 8MP ultra wide-angle snapper.

The smartphone draws power from a 4700mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. It comes with support for USB Type-C fast charging along with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security purposes.

Isn't the MediaTek processor an outdated one

Considering the fact that the smartphone runs on the MediaTek Helio G95 processor, the competition is really tough for the device in the same price range. In the same price range, we have devices like Realme 9 SE 5G, iQoo Z6 Pro, and others offering a batter processor and promising a better performance.

No doubt the device has a powerful camera, but still, the image processing capabilities of Helio G95 cannot compete against the Snapdragon 778G processor. The inclusion of a dated processor is going to work as a major turn-off for the users.
