The global launch of Xiaomi 12 series smartphones has been on the cards for a long time. In a recent development, a new Xiaomi phone, the Xiaomi 12 Lite has appeared on the FCC certification website along with a few key specifications. In addition, the smartphone has also registered its presence on EEC and TKDN.

In a report by PriceBaba, tipster Yogesh Brar has revealed the key specifications of the smartphone. Similar to what we have seen in the past, the Lite version of Xiaomi 12 will make its debut in the home country, followed by the global launch and Indian arrival.

Its predecessor, Xiaomi 11 Lite was launched in India by mid-2021. We can expect the upcoming device to hit the Indian market somewhere in June or July. In the past, it was said that the smartphone will boast a Snapdragon 778G processor. In India, the smartphone will be most probably priced at around Rs 25,000.

What can we see in Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G?

A couple of months ago, Xiaomi released the concept renders of the device that gave us a fair idea of the design. The smartphone may get a curved edge screen. It might have a 6.55-inch HD+ AMOLED display coupled with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The FCC listing of the smartphone has revealed that it will have three RAM and storage variants - 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.

The Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G could get a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary shooter with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra wide-angle sensor, and a 5MP macro sensor.

At the front, the smartphone may rock a 16MP shooter for the sake of selfies and video calls. The device may be powered by a 5,000mAh battery along with 67W fast charging support.

Competition alert for mid rangers

Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will straight up compete with smartphones like Realme 9 5G SE, Samsung Galaxy M52 5G, iQoo Z5 5G, etc. All these smartphones run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor with an almost similar set of specifications.

Apart from that, we can also see Xiaomi 12 Lite competing against the upcoming iQoo Z6 Pro that is slated to launch in April itself.

The iQoo device is said to run on the Snapdragon 778G processor, and it is being boasted as the fastest phone under Rs 25,000. No doubt Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G will have tough competition in multiple markets.
