After teasing the launch for days, Xiaomi has finally announced that its flagship phone Xiaomi 12 Pro will debut in India on April 27.

The smartphone maker took to Twitter to announce the launch date of the upcoming phone. While the Xiaomi 12 series includes three phones as of now -  Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12 Pro, however,  the company hasn't revealed if all the three phones will be launched on the same day.

To recall, the Xiaomi 12 series was first launched in China in December and was recently introduced in the international markets.

If we go by the rumours, the device is expected to get most of the specifications and features identical to the International variant. And once launched, the Xiaomi 12 Pro will compete with phones like the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, iQoo 9 Pro, OnePlus 10 Pro, Realme GT 2 Pro and Moto Edge 30 Pro

Xiaomi 12 Pro pricing (expected)

As for the pricing, the smartphone is available at a starting price of $999 in the global market which is way high compared to the retail price in China.

If you translate the internal pricing, it roughly converts to Rs 76,300. There are rumours that the phone might be aggressively priced in India to counter Realme GT 2 Pro.

However, Xiaomi has been looking to position itself as a brand that is capable of making market-leading flagship products that can take on the flagship Galaxy S series from Samsung, hence we feel that the company might want to undercut Samsung's phones rather than Realme's flagship device.

No confirmation about the Xiaomi 12 Lite, yet

Apart from the three devices mentioned above, a cheaper phone - Xiaomi 12 Lite seems to be doing rounds of late.

The phone is expected to be a stripped-down device that will retail at a much lower price point than the other three phones. If rumours are to be believed, the Xiaomi 12 Lite might launch in India along with the Xiaomi 12 Pro. However, we will have to wait for an official confirmation.

Xiaomi Pro specifications (expected)

If the smartphone is going to bring what we have seen in the Chinese variant, then we already know the specifications of the device. Xiaomi 12 Pro will come with a 6.73-inch WQHD E5 AMOLED display coupled with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The smartphone houses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB internal storage in the high-end variant. The device will operate on the MIUI 13 based on the Android 12 operating system

In the camera department, we can see a 50MP wide-angle shooter, 50MP ultra wide-angle shooter, and a 50MP telephoto shooter. At the front, the device may rock a 32MP snapper for the sake of selfies and video calls. There are high chances that the smartphone will leave its competitors behind in terms of camera prowess.

It will be powered by a 4600mAh battery with 120W fast charging support and could have four colour options - Purple, Gray, Blue, and Green.
