Apple is rumoured to be working on four different iPhones this time. If the reports are to be believed we might see an iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

While Apple might have decided to do away with the Mini iPhone, a report by MacRumours hints that the company might even decide to ship the phone in just two sizes – 6.1 inches and 6.7-inches.

According to the report, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro could measure 6.1-inches diagonally while the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max might measure 6.7 inches in all.

This corroborates a previous report which was based on the inputs from Apple analyst Mark Gurman. He not only mentioned the new notch-less design on the iPhones but also hinted at the two size display sizes that Apple might choose this time around.

The latest report also shows metal moulds of all four phones. These moulds are used to make smartphone cases and are almost the perfect replica of the device in terms of measurements. These moulds also confirm the previously rumoured fact that only the Pro variants of the iPhone 14 lineup will come with a triple camera setup with the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max will sport a dual rear camera module.

Additionally, the metal moulds also hint that the camera bump on all the Pro models could be larger than ever. This further hints at the powerful camera setup that the company plans to cram in such a small space.

As for the non-pro variants, these are not only expected to use the old camera hardware but are also expected to ship with the A15 Bionic chipset which is being used in the iPhone 13 lineup. In comparison, the Pro variants are expected to ship with the new A16 Bionic chip. Needless to say, the new chip will be more powerful and will enable 8K video capture as well.

Practical changes in the iPhone 14 lineup?

While the removal of the notch could be the biggest headline for the next-generation iPhones, however, the missing iPhone 14 Mini also hints that Apple has finally given up on the mini-flagship phone.

The demand for a compact mini-phone seemed to be superficial hence the company might have replaced it with a bigger but not that pricey iPhone 14 Max – offering users the option to go for a large, screened iPhone but without shelling out a massive sum of money.

Additionally, the removal of the iPhone 14 Mini also makes space for an overhauled and way more powerful (but pricey) iPhone SE that may ship out next year. The latest iPhone SE 2022 came equipped with the A15 Bionic chipset and the price jump was so significant that purchasing an iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini made more practical sense.
