Live-streaming has blown up over the past few years with more and more people looking for ways to broadcast their talents and connect with others. Bigo Live has become a major player in this space with the app amassing over 400 million users since their launch in 2016.
A key part of Big Live’s success is their heavy focus on integrating artificial intelligence solutions to moderate content and help users find relevant streams based on their interests. This keeps inappropriate content off the platform and helps creators get discovered quicker. Bigo’s AI tools also helps creators get content out faster and connect with their communities.
Looking to bolster engagement amongst communities and create a more immersive live streaming experience, Bigo Live is introducing a new feature that lets streamers create up to three communities and a Virtual Live environment with dynamic 3D avatars.
With the new community feature, creators can have a Discord-like experience letting users talk and interact about different interests in separate channels. Bigo hopes this will help creators build larger communities and nurture meaningful connections.
With Virtual Live, Bigo hopes to bank in on the promise of the metaverse. Bigo will combine augmented reality, virtual reality and AI with cutting-edge algorithms to create realistic and dynamic 3D avatars. The avatars will allow users to interact with each other and their favorite streamers in an open environment.
“Bigo Live is committed to contribute to society in a positive and meaningful way and we believe that our recently introduced ‘Virtual Live’ and Community features will help achieve this vision,” said a spokesperson from Bigo Live. “After listening to our users and identifying what is important to them, we believe that it was important to leverage our capability in AI to provide them with the tools required to create immersive, engaging and creative content themselves.”
Bigo Live is available to download on Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.
