This year's Black Friday deals event is now underway, with retailers on both sides of the pond offering early deals on all manner of tech products, including Apple's best iPhones.

Black Friday proper takes place on November 29 this year, but individual retailer sales have already kicked off in earnest. Best Buy, for instance, is currently offering the iPhone 14 Plus for $679.99 (was $729.99), while in the UK, shoppers can pick up the brand new iPhone 16 for just £779 with any Giffgaff plan.

In this guide, we've rounded up the best early Black Friday iPhone deals, and provided guidance on how to navigate this year's sales. If you're in the market for an iPhone 16, specifically, check out our Black Friday iPhone 16 deals page.

Today's best iPhone deals in the US

iPhone 16: $23.05 free with an unlimited plan, plus free iPad and Apple One at Verizon

iPhone 16: was $23.05 now free with an unlimited plan, plus free iPad and Apple One at Verizon
If you're looking for the standard iPhone 16, the good news is you don't even need to trade in to get one for free right now at Verizon. Eligible with a new line on an Ultimate Unlimited plan, you'll be saving a massive $829 on device costs here. In addition, Verizon is also throwing in six months of Apple One for free and an iPad 10.9 (yes, a whole iPad). Note, however, that you will need to pay for the additional accessory cellular line ($10/mo) if you want to claim the free iPad here.

iPhone 16 Pro: $27.77 $5/mo with an unlimited plan, plus free iPad and Apple One at Verizon

iPhone 16 Pro: was $27.77 now $5/mo with an unlimited plan, plus free iPad and Apple One at Verizon
If you're interested in the Pro models, you'll also find great deals on the iPhone 16 Pro at Verizon right now. There are two options for getting a discount on the phone here; a new line on an Ultimate Unlimited plan will automatically drop the price to $5/mo, but you can also trade in for a maximum rebate of up to $1,000. The trade-in will effectively cover the entire cost of the device, and you can also bundle in that free iPad and get six months of Apple One (again, for free), as with the deal on the standard iPhone 16 above.

iPhone 16: up to $1,000 off with a trade-in at AT&TiPhone 16iPhone 16 ProiPhone 16 PlusiPhone 16 Pro Max

iPhone 16: up to $1,000 off with a trade-in at AT&T
AT&T's latest iPhone 16 deal offers excellent trade-in rebates of up to $1,000 off alongside an eligible unlimited data plan of $75.99/mo and up. Available for both new and existing customers, the trade-in criteria needed to get the full rebate is particularly generous at this carrier right now. According to the fine print, you'll need a trade-in value of at least $180 to get either the excellent iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro for free, or a significant discount on either the iPhone 16 Plus or iPhone 16 Pro Max.

iPhone 14 Plus:$729.99$679.99 at Best Buy

iPhone 14 Plus: was $729.99 now $679.99 at Best Buy
Best Buy has the iPhone 14 Plus available at a cut price right now. We're less critical of this phone versus the standard iPhone 14 given its mightily impressive battery credentials and gorgeous, Pro Max-sized screen, and there's also no iPhone 13 Plus to directly compare it to. You'll get the Dynamic Island and a 48MP camera from the more expensive iPhone 15 Plus, but if you can forgo those features, then the iPhone 14 Plus for $729.99 is a strong pre-Black Friday deal.

iPhone SE (2022): $429$149 with any plan at Straight Talk

iPhone SE (2022): was $429 now $149 with any plan at Straight Talk
If you're simply looking for a capable iPhone to tide you over for the next few years, Straight Talk's excellent iPhone SE (2022) deal could be for you. With the iPhone 13 mini now dead and buried, the iPhone SE (2022) is essentially the best small phone that's still available from Apple. Its design may be outdated, but the internal specs remain strong. You can pick up the phone for just $149 right now from Straight Talk directly or via Walmart's Straight Talk partnership; in either case, you'll need to select a monthly plan (the cheapest right now is $35/mo).

iPhone 16: £829£779 with a £10 (or more) plan at Giffgaff

iPhone 16: was £829 now £779 with a £10 (or more) plan at Giffgaff
Giffgaff's pre-Black Friday iPhone 16 promotion is rare in that it saves you money on the device itself, as well as on data (you'll get extra data on various plans for no extra cost). To qualify for the £50 saving, you'll just need to add a monthly plan costing £10 or more. You can also split the device cost over 36 months, so in theory, the best possible iPhone 16 deal here is £30.95/mo for 60GB of data with a £25 upfront payment.

iPhone 16 Pro: £44.99/mo for 500GB data at iD Mobile

iPhone 16 Pro: £44.99/mo for 500GB data at iD Mobile
Carphone Warehouse is currently offering a Black Friday deal on iD Mobile's 24-month iPhone 16 Pro plan. For just £44.99/mo and £39 upfront, you'll get a whopping 500GB of data, which is quintuple (5x) the usual 100GB offering. iD Mobile itself also has various discounts on monthly plans, albeit with higher upfront fees than this Carphone Warehouse deal.

iPhone 15: £36.99/mo£34.99/mo at iD Mobile

iPhone 15: was £36.99/mo now £34.99/mo at iD Mobile
Another great iD Mobile promotion here: you can pick up the iPhone 15 for just £34.99/mo and £19 upfront on a 24-month plan. For that price, you'll get 10GB of data and unlimited everything else. If you want more data, similar deals are available on 100GB and Unlimited plans, albeit with higher upfront fees. iD Mobile is currently offering discounted monthly plans on the iPhone 15 Plus, too.

iPhone 14:£599£549 at Amazon

iPhone 14: was £599 now £549 at Amazon
Amazon continues to knock £50 off the price of the iPhone 14 ahead of Black Friday. This device has been as low as £539 once before, and it may drop to that level again on Black Friday proper, but £549 is still a pretty great deal on a device that cost £699 just a year ago. We would always recommend going for the iPhone 13 over the iPhone 14 – their designs are identical, their cameras are (almost) identical and their chipsets are separated by just one generation – but with the iPhone 13 now harder to come by following Apple's discontinuation of the device, the iPhone 14 is a more appealing option (the iPhone 13 is, however, still available at Argos).

iPhone 13:£499£449 at Argos

iPhone 13: was £499 now £449 at Argos
Despite its discontinuation, Argos is still stocking the 128GB iPhone 13 in black or white. £449 is an exceptional price on an iPhone that is, for all intents and purposes, the same device as the iPhone 14, and it'll continue to be supported by Apple with software updates until at least 2028. The iPhone 13 is also currently still available at Amazon, albeit in more limited color and storage configurations.

When will the Black Friday iPhone deals start in 2024?

November 29 is the official Black Friday day, but you can expect iPhone deals to appear well before that (indeed, they already are), and continue appearing well after that, too. Cyber Monday takes place on December 2, but iPhone deals will likely remain active throughout the pre-Christmas period.

That said, the very best iPhone deals are sure to pop up closer to Black Friday itself – just don't expect them to stick around for long.

Is Black Friday the best time to buy an iPhone?

Apple's best iPhones are rarely cheap, but Black Friday does see some bargains surface from both carriers and retailers selling unlocked iPhones. However, if you're expecting to find a hugely discounted iPhone 16 Pro Max, you may be left disappointed, as we don't expect to see the latest phones get big deals (unless they're part of expensive monthly plans). Rather, Black Friday can be a great time to buy an older iPhone for well below its launch price.

What Black Friday iPhone deals should I expect?

Some carriers are already offering compelling discounts on both the iPhone 16 range and last-generation models, or at least attractive bundles. For unlocked phones, the best deals are coming to older models (think the iPhone SE, iPhone 15, iPhone 14) at the likes of Amazon, Best Buy, Currys, and Argos.

Why trust TechRadar this Black Friday

We've covered Black Friday for more than 10 years at TechRadar, so we have a good idea of when the best sales typically start and how to spot the biggest bargains. We also keep our eyes on sales throughout the year and track the lowest prices of the most popular products, so we know a good deal when we see it.

When it comes to iPhones, we review and thoroughly test all the iPhone models, and continue using them after we've completed our reviews. That way, we can track the evolution of Apple's phones and assess how they perform over time, meaning we can keep our best iPhones and best phones lists thoroughly up-to-date.
