Boxing Day and January gaming sales: Nintendo Switch bundle deals, PS5 games and more
Rounding up the best savings on consoles, games and accessories
If you're on the hunt for Boxing Day gaming sales, you'll find there's still plenty on offer today and through late December into the annual January sales. Even though demand for hardware has been so high in the run-up to Christmas in the UK, with every major console basically selling out (most notably the newer Xbox Series X and PS5), you can still bag a price cut on an accessory or game.
In the Boxing Day sales, we're mostly seeing deals on games across PS5, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Ubisoft's three big 2020 open-world games are the frontrunners for the best discounts, here: Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion and Immortals Fenyx Rising are all cheaper than they were at launch across the board. But if you're a new PS5 owner, you'll also find not-too-bad discounts on early next-gen titles Demon's Souls and Godfall. Considering those games retail up to an eye-watering £69.99 each, saving a little bit of money is welcome indeed.
Below, we've rounded up the best Boxing Day gaming sales we're seeing in the sales so far – many of which should still be available throughout late December. We've also tracked down a few decent Nintendo Switch bundles for this list, as well as deals on games we think you'll actually want to buy.
Boxing Day and January sales: deals on Nintendo Switch bundles and PS5 games
Nintendo Switch Lite | Super Mario 3D All-Stars: £219 at Currys
This Super Mario 3D All-Stars bundle can save you just under £25 over the price of both the console and game separately. That's excellent value for the recent release, and one nostalgia fans should have no hesitation in taking advantage of.
Nintendo Switch + Ring Fit Adventure: £339 at Currys
Sold out - You're saving about £5 on the overall cost of the console and popular fitness game Ring Fit Adventure here. That's an excellent result considering this peripheral hardware has been incredibly difficult to get hold of over the last few months.
Nintendo Switch | free Stealth carry case: £279.99 at Argos
This week's Nintendo Switch bundles aren't saving you a load of cash on included games, but Argos is throwing in a free Stealth carry case when you pick up a console this week. Stock is organised by location, so you may have two separate orders shipped to you here if you're out of stock locally.
Nintendo Switch Lite | Animal Crossing New Horizons: £219 at Currys
Grab the Nintendo Switch Lite with Animal Crossing for just £219 at Currys right now - that's a good £15 off the usual price of both together and perfect if you've been waiting to get to your deserted island.
Nintendo Switch Animal Crossing Edition + Animal Crossing: New Horizons download code: £319.99 at Argos
There's no significant discount at play, here, but the Animal Crossing-branded Nintendo Switch has been very hard to find this year. At the time of writing, Argos is offering that console with a digital copy of the game for a solid price – though you'll have to check it's in stock in your area first.
Watch Dogs Legion: £51.99 £33.99 at Amazon
Or, take on Watch Dogs Legion, Ubisoft's second blockbuster release this holiday season. You'll find it with an excellent £33.99 sales price right now as Amazon offers up the first price cut we've seen so far.
Immortals Fenyx Rising: £51.99 £33.99 at Amazon
One of the newest games on this list is also one of the cheapest. Immortals Fenyx Rising has only been on the shelves a few weeks, but with an £18 price drop, we're seeing its first discounts sitting particularly pretty right now. Move fast though, we've already got this one in our cart.
Godfall: £54.99 £44.97 at Amazon
Love it or hate it, Godfall has been with the PS5 since the very beginning. You're saving £10 on this particular title, and if you're looking for a fairly easy hacker and slasher to get you through some 2020 rage this price drop might make the contentious game worth a try.
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla: £51.99 £39.99 at Amazon
The latest entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise, Valhalla takes us to the world of the Vikings. It recently hit the top of the UK Christmas chart and sits at its lowest price yet in Amazon's PS5 sale.
NBA 2K21: £59.99 £54.99 at Amazon
It's not a massive discount, but if you're still looking to pick up NBA 2K21 you can save £5 at Amazon right now. Considering we first saw this hit the market at £64.99, however, you're saving £10 over the original retail price.
Demon's Souls: £66.47 £62.99 at Amazon
Demon's Souls was one of the most anticipated titles to hit the PS5 system at launch, so we're not surprised to see a sparse price cut in this first round of discounts. However, you can save roughly £4 here if you're looking to get the game as quick and cheap as possible.
DualSense PS5 Controller: £59.99 at Amazon
There's no discount on the DualSense PS5 controller, unfortunately, but since peripherals for the console have been selling out since launch, consider this a stock alert if you just bought the next-gen console.
PS5 HD camera: £49.98 at Amazon
The PS5 HD camera is currently in stock at Amazon for £49.99. If you're going to be using those onboard streaming options or pairing your PlayStation VR with your new console, then, this is a must-buy.
Up to 80% off Xbox digital games from £4.94 at Amazon
There's a massive Xbox sale happening right now at Amazon, with titles like Watchdogs Legion, Gears 5, Rainbow Six Siege, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and more crashing in price.
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla: £51.99 £38.00 at Amazon
The latest entry in Ubisoft's open world series is slightly cheaper on PS4 than PS5 right now – and the PS4 version gets you the PS5 one for free anyway, though you'll need the disc edition of the next-gen console. All you have to do is insert the disc in the new console, and you're directed to downloading a digital copy of the PS5 edition. Well worth it.
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order: £28.95 £19.00 at Amazon
One of last year's biggest games reaches a budget price. If you've enjoyed the heck out of The Mandalorian this year, this is the rich, story-driven Star Wars experience you're looking for, plus it runs at a higher framerate on PS4 Pro and PS5.
FIFA 21: £47.99 £32.99 at Amazon
The always massive-selling FIFA has been on discount for a little while now, but this is still a great price for the football fan in your life on Boxing Day. You can also get the PS5 version for free with this one, assuming you own the disc edition of the next-gen console.
Nintendo Switch games from £14.99 at Currys
There are plenty more Nintendo Switch games on sale at Currys, with Luigi's Mansion 3, Pokemon Sword, Super Mario Party and more.
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller: £59.99 £53.99 at Currys
Save £6 - It's not a massive discount but the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is finally seeing some price cuts in the Currys Boxing Day sales. Perfect if you prefer a more traditional gaming experience when docked, this premium piece of kit rarely sees discounts through the year.
Nintendo Switch Joy-Con: £69.99 £59.99 at Currys
Nintendo Switch Joy-Con rarely drop their prices, but you can pick up a pair of neon red and blue controllers for just £59.99 right now. That's £10 off the RRP and perfect if you want to get some multiplayer action in.
