Dimensity 9000 is giving tough competition to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC

The dominance of Qualcomm mobile processors was threatened as soon as MediaTek started competing with the former in all price segments. The fight between the two intensified with the launch of processors like MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC

In a report published by GSMArena, the AnTutu scores of both the mentioned processors have been shared. The scores suggested that the device housing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor scored not that much as compared to the ones with Dimensity 9000.

According to the list, the Red Magic 7 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor tops the charts and is followed by iQoo 9 and iQoo 9 Pro. The Redmi K50 Pro with Dimensity 9000 is at the fourth position on the list.

What we can figure out from the list is that a few devices with Dimensity 9000 are better in terms of performance than a few devices with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.

Until now, it can be said that MediaTek has never placed a bet in the flagship segment. The best we saw previously was the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor seen in OnePlus Nord 2 5G, Poco F3 GT, etc.

It can be said that this is happening for the first time that a MediaTek processor is giving this level of competition to a Snapdragon chipset.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor heating issues

A report in the past suggested that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor gets heated up in Moto Edge X30. Now, the heating up of a flagship processor is a major concern. Being a customer, no one would like to spend around Rs 45,000 to 70,000 just to face heating issues while multitasking or charging their smartphone.

As of now, there have been no complaints of heating in other Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000 SoC devices. Talking facts here, MediaTek will not be able to outclass Snapdragon processors in an instance. However, we can see something like that in the near future for sure.
