For mobile developers everywhere, the dream is for their apps to take off and be a success across the globe.

A key way to do this is through succeeding in the Chinese market, which boasts the world's largest mobile audience with over 904 million mobile internet users and almost 100 billion app downloads in 2019.

China offers a huge wealth of possibilities for app developers of all sizes and across all industries. But entering into a new market can often pose a wealth of challenges that can be the difference between success and failure - fortunately, Huawei is here to make the process smoother than ever.

Huawei is already the world's largest smartphone maker, and recently recorded a 46% market share of smartphone sales in China during the second quarter of 2020. To ensure its users have access to the widest range of apps, games and services, Huawei also boasts its own app marketplace - AppGallery, which has already amassed 500 million active users globally.

The company has now released a webinar targeted especially at developers looking to break into the Chinese market, offering a wealth of advice on how to overcome challenges and ensure a smooth process.

Entitled, "Grow in China, Win with AppGallery", the webinar featured a range of top developers and AppGallery customers, including mobile gaming giants such as Tencent, iDreamSky, Jinke and Feiyu, sharing their insights on how to build towards success in China.

“For example, it’s challenging to navigate the wide range of local regulatory and compliance requirements,  and developers often struggle to localise their app and make it relevant and marketable to Chinese users,” said Ilya Fedotov, Head of Global Partnerships & Eco-Development Communication, Huawei Consumer Business Group.

Huawei's HMS ecosystem features a number of services designed to help developers expand into China, offering consulting service, localisation and integration advice, marketing support, and campaign services that can bridge the divide and appeal to Chinese users.

Legal boundaries can often be a tricky obstacle to overcome when entering a new market, and Huawei has designed AppGallery to support developers entering the Chinese market, ensuring they are well-equipped to navigate the various qualification and regulatory requirements for launching an app in China. The company can also advise developers on any preconditions or licensing hurdles that may need to be addressed before launching, all in a bid to ensure that app launches in the country are as smooth as possible. This includes a new IT Online Self-service Platform, which enables developers to easily and quickly find answers about qualifications requirements.

Huawei has long enjoyed success both in China and abroad, and now the company is hoping it can pass on its wisdom to developers around the world. To find out more, you can download the white paper, which offers a wealth of advice for developers looking to enter the Chinese market - download here.
