India's first modular e-scooter to arrive in early 2023
It's from Dispatch Vehicles
EV startup Dispatch Vehicles, with an eye on last-mile delivery and ride-sharing services, has come up with an electric scooter which it plans to launch in the first quarter of 2023.
Billed as India's first-ever modular design e-scooter, the vehicle is meant for shared and commercial applications, and is claimed to be tougher, reliable and adaptable for better unit economics and higher profitability.
The Dispatch scooter will have unique industrial design and will be built with robust suspensions for ease of ride. The dashboard of the scooter is completely digital with a large dock for a smartphone or tablet. It will come with support for both charging depleted batteries as well as swapping it out.
What's a modular e-scooter?
Unlike a typical electric two-wheeler, the Dispatch scooter is purpose-built for ride-sharing, delivery operations and other commercial use. With that vision in mind, the company created an algorithm that accounts for six major requirements for businesses looking to add EVs to their fleet.
The company, in a statement, said the Dispatch e-scooter will enable new business models with the flexibility to pivot when business demands, all without replacing the fleet. The e-scooter will look to overcome the mobility challenges faced by delivery partners and fleet owners.
“Fleets are currently stuck with vehicles designed for personal ownership, without the right infrastructure or relevant services under one unified ecosystem,” Rajit Arya, Co-Founder and CEO, Dispatch Vehicles said.
"With the Dispatch e-Scooter, we plan to change the fleet dynamics for last-mile mobility making it more profitable," Arya added.

The Dispatch scooter is expected to be launched in three variants — primarily classified on the basis of the top speed. The vehicle is rated for a load of 200 kg including the rider.
A modular design vehicle allows its owner to configure it in multiple ways to fulfill a variety of purposes. The e-scooter can be configured with front and rear luggage racks for the delivery of goods, packages, and food items. It can also be set up to carry a passenger as part of ride-sharing services.
