LG NanoCell TV: see the big picture with vivid visuals from any angle
LG NanoCell offers superb colour and picture quality, here's everything you need to know
When buying a TV it's best to make sure you've researched all the tech out there so you know you're getting the best possible picture quality for your buck. That's why you've come to the right place to learn about the LG NanoCell televisions. So what is NanoCell?
This guide will explain how NanoCell makes for a better quality picture with enhanced colours and improved viewing angles. It's not OLED but instead uses LED technology meaning you can get higher quality images within your budget.
There's even an 8K NanoCell, the Nano 9 Series 8K, which offers the highest possible resolution on a screen with that supercolour backing. Here's what you need to know about NanoCell.
What is LG NanoCell tech?
LG has managed to incorporate its own super secret nano material, that is just 1 nm across, into its in-plane switching LCD displays which results in massively enhanced colour reproduction. That means consistent pixel placement, one nanometre apart for uniform colour and superb quality.
This also allows for those colours to remain vivid and bright even when viewed from side-on angles. This can, in some other TVs, result in a loss of colour and a darkening of the image.
This is achieved by absorbing surplus light wavelengths that can otherwise cause bleed between colours. That means you get not only better colours but more defined and sharper ones too. The result is an ability to filter colours far better which allows them to be displayed as the original content creator wanted it to be seen.
This means that a 4K and HDR NanoCell TV is able to offer the best possible definition of the broad range of colours these TVs can deliver. But it also means that this tech is ideal for homes where the TV is viewed at an angle, or where a group gather around a screen. This lets everyone enjoy all those extra colours, no matter where they are. Ideal for a larger display like the Nano 8 Series 4K with a 65-inch screen and HDR rich colours.
What is LG Nano Colour?
This is the part of NanoCell which delivers those awesome colours. This works by using the nanoparticles as filters to remove impure colours. This changes the RGB wavelength resulting in more punchy and vivid colours on the screen.
This, when combined with full array dimming, means that the picture can be perfected to show lighter and darker colours with greater definition. It also means less bleed so that dark blacks stay truly black even when next to lighter whites. The result is greater detail as well as picture definition and, ultimately, quality. This is particularly impressive at larger sizes like on the LG Nano 9 Series 4K 75-inch TV.
What is Nano Accuracy?
This is the term used to describe how NanoCell tech is able to point the images from its screen right to your eyes wherever you are sitting. Alright it's not light bending magic like it sounds but it does mean that the viewing angle is super wide on NanoCell televisions. What you will get is vivid colours even if you move to the side of the screen, something other televisions fail at.
Nano Accuracy also refers to the ability to impressively reproduce high speed images where frame rates are rapid, like in action movies, sporting events or gaming. The result is a smooth motion with super low input lag. For total gaming immersion there's a whopping 86-inch LG Nano 9 Series 4K TV that'll melt your eyes with its UHD picture quality.
What is Nano Bezel?
Alright, so the nano bezel isn't literally nano sized, but it is in keeping with that nano theme in terms of being very, very slim. This helps you to focus on the superb colours of the display without distraction.
That super slim nano bezel is also ideal for using gallery mode which displays images on the screen as if it were a thinly framed picture. The images on this are seasonal and get updated by TripAdvisor so you get to glimpse the world from your home as you pass by – always in high quality colour, no matter the angle.
