Boxing Day sales are finally here! Well, kinda – I expect the biggest Boxing Day deals in New Zealand to drop on December 26, but with Christmas mere hours away, New Zealand's biggest retailers like Noel Leeming, PB Tech and the ever-reliable Amazon AU are already bringing the bargains.

With so many sales periods in 2024 – Black Friday and Cyber Monday, EOFY and mid-year sales, plus retailer-specific sales like Amazon Prime Day(s) – you might think Boxing Day sales have lost their lustre. But, Boxing Day is still circled on our calendar for a reason, and if comes close to matching the prices we saw during Black Friday, you can expect all-time lows on top-tier tech.

Based on previous sales this year and past Boxing Days, I expect to see discounted prices on the best TVs, laptops, tablets, phones, coffee machines and more. That abundance of deals can make it hard to differentiate between great and not-so-great deals, though. And that's what I'm here for.

I'll be using my online shopping expertise to bring you only the best Boxing Day deals in New Zealand – keeping this list updated with the latest prices and information as we move from Christmas, to Boxing Day and a little bit beyond.

I love getting my hands on the latest phones and tablets, and watching the latest on streaming. There's one thing I like more, though – online shopping. Deal hunting is my forte, and I use my experience to bring you only the best bargains.

Tips for last-minute shoppers

It’s Christmas Eve, and while the festive spirit is in full swing, the reality of forgotten shopping has hit. If you’re looking to capitalise on Boxing Day sales in New Zealand but can no longer count on Amazon’s delivery services to make it in time, don’t worry – there are still excellent ways to score last-minute deals before Christmas day.

Consider Same-Day Delivery Options

Some stores, like JB Hi-Fi, offer on-demand delivery through services such as Uber This can be a lifesaver if you find a deal you love and want it delivered straight to your door without waiting. JB Hi-Fi offers two types of Uber deliveries in metro areas:

ASAP Delivery: Your order will be delivered within 90 minutes to 2 hours of placing it.

Scheduled Delivery: If available, you can select a 2-hour delivery window during the store’s operating hours.

Eligibility: Orders must be placed within 20km of a store offering Uber delivery. Available 7 days a week from store opening until 2 hours before closing time.Opt for In-Store Pickup

The smartest move, if you spot a deal on our curated Boxing Day sales page, is to order online for in-store pickup. Why? This ensures the item is in stock before you brave the retail madness. Plus, your order will be ready and waiting for you to collect, saving you time and stress. Most major retailers offer this option, making it an ideal way to shop. Noel Leeming even guarantees that click-and-collect orders will be ready for collection in one hour – place your order, get dressed, drive to the store and voila, it's ready to grab and go.

What to Do About Amazon Bargains

If the deal you’ve spotted is on Amazon but delivery isn’t feasible, don’t give up. Check physical stores like Noel Leeming for the same product. These retailers often match or closely align with Amazon’s pricing, especially during major sales events like Boxing Day. You might just find the same item for a comparable price and with the added bonus of immediate availability.
