Mastering Mythic Legends: 5 top tips that will lead you to victory
The time is nearly here - after much anticipation, Mythic Legends will hit the scene on May 27th!
As the first release by Hyperdot Studios, you can bet that Mythic Legends will be bringing the heat, revolutionising turn-based strategy games
If you’re a mobile gaming nay-sayer, you’ve got another thing coming. Mythic Legends is packed full of high-octane action, combining the best elements of MOBA and RPG strategy games, and designed to be the go-to game for new and experienced players alike.
Can’t wait? Here are 5 tips to lead you to victory as you begin your adventure with Mythic Legends.
1. Know your champs
Chinese general Sun Tzu once said “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles” - and he wrote a book called The Art of War, so he’s pretty much the go-to for tactical warfare.
In a game as rich in lore and in-depth strategy as Mythic Legends, knowing your champions is vital. For example, rarer champs are more powerful - even if they’re at a lower level than a more common one. Mythic and Legendary champions typically have stronger special abilities, so you’ll want to lean on them in battle.
Unsure about how your champs stack up? Thankfully, Mythic Legends also gives you post-battle stats that you can find on the battle results page. Across the three tabs (Damage, Received and Healing), you’ll find everything you need to know about how your team performed, win or lose.
2. Buff it up
There’s more to champion selection than raw power, of course. When your team features multiple champs from the same origin or class, you get special bonuses called synergies, which can completely shift the course of your battle. These scale, too, so you’ll want to hone in on one or two synergies per battle to maximise your champions.
If that wasn’t enough, there are also artefacts, which can be applied to champions to give your team a boost. These are very situational, applying to specific origins or classes across your champs, so it’s worth working them into your playstyle. If you like to stick with one team, champion-specific artefacts are great - but not so much if you like to switch things up between battles.
3. Stay two steps ahead
In Mythic Legends, you’ll never need to enter a battle blind - and we recommend you don’t try to! Before each battle, you can check up on your opponent’s power rating, which you’ll find next to the red fist under their info box.
This power rating summarises the power of your opponent’s deployed team, which you can compare to your own power rating (found next to the green fist above your name). However, don’t take it at face value. How you strategise your gameplay can totally flip the result of a battle.
If you tap on your opponent’s info box, you can even look at their champions and formation, which can give you an idea of how they might fight when the battle commences, as well as any cracks in their armour. Remember, though - they have the exact same information on you!
4. Keep it flexible
Considering what we just learned, it’s easy to see why being adaptable is an asset in Mythic Legends. As with most strategy games, it doesn’t pay off to be a wallflower - seize the opportunities you find in order to steal a win.
Is your opponent lacking defense for its weaker ranged units? Load up on the assassins for a sneak attack, or go full-frontal with your melee units if they’ve given you a direct line of attack.
Above all else, it’s important to try new things. With so many champions, formations, synergies and artefacts at your fingertips, it’s way more fun to experiment with the possibilities than it is to stick with your old faithful. Plus, you’ll probably find yourself winning more often.
5. Maximise multiplayer
At its core, Mythic Legends is all about the multiplayer experience, whether you’re gunning for the top spot on the ranked leaderboard or just enjoying battling it out in the tournaments.
Plus, thanks to its innovative asynchronous battle system, you can reap all the benefits of high-octane multiplayer gameplay while still taking the time you need to make the right play.
Tournaments pit you against seven foes, so the odds are stacked against you. That’s why it’s crucial to pick your battles and keep an eye out on who’s leading the pack and check out their team. Once you’ve figured out their strengths and weaknesses, you can focus on making a team that can outlast them as the tournament comes to an end.
There’s still time to pre-register for Mythic Legends, meaning you’ll get a neat bonus to help kickstart your journey to becoming a Legend.
Players can now try to assemble the mightiest army the empire has ever seen, and unleash the power of beastmasters, knights, and sorcerers on their opponents. Mythic Legends is available to play now on all major platforms worldwide.
