November has been a good month on the new Disney Plus movies front. Admittedly, the streamer has only added five new movies – including this week's two entries – to its back catalog this month but, Oz the Great and Powerful aside, they've all been worth watching.
Before we enter the final month of 2024, then, you've still got time to catch November's new film offerings on one of the world's best streaming services ahead of the annual barrage of festive film arrivals. Not fussed on any of the below flicks? Our best Disney Plus movies guide is also packed with top tier suggestions from our expert term. No matter what movie you settle on, we're sure you'll enjoy it. Happy streaming!
New Disney Plus movies: November
Beatles '64
Release date: November 29
Runtime: 102 minutes
Age rating: TV-MA (US and (UK)
Director: David Tedeschi
Cast: Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr
Rotten Tomatoes (RT) score: 96% (critics); TBC (audiences)
As a Scouser (that's someone born and raised in Liverpool, UK, for anyone interested), you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm a big fan of The Beatles. The arrival of yet another docufilm – Beatles '64 – about the Fab Four on Disney's primary streaming service, then, was always going to pique my interest. Like Let It Be, this documentary captures a very specific event in the legendary quartet's career – aka their first trip to the US. Featuring never-before-seen footage, Beatles '64 offers a rare insight into an era where The Beatles ruled the roost as the phenomenon known as 'Beatlemania' swept the globe. Time for another fascinating trip down memory lane for me, then!
Oz the Great and Powerful
Release date: November 29
Runtime: 130 minutes
Age rating: PG (US and (UK)
Director: Sam Raimi
Cast: James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, and Zach Braff
Rotten Tomatoes (RT) score: 56% (critics); 56% (audiences)
I was torn about including Oz the Great and Powerful in this guide. Not because it's a terrible film (despite what its RT ratings suggest, anyway), but due to Franco and Kunis' involvement and the controversies they've been enveloped in since this fantasy flick arrived over a decade ago. Nevertheless, with Wicked Part One dominating the box office, Oz the Great and Powerful is an example of how not to adapt The Wizard of Oz, i.e. one of the most popular works of fiction of all-time. Sorry, Mr. Raimi, but this candy-colored, slap-dash prequel isn't one for me and I suspect many others agree with me, too.
Out Of My Mind
Release date: November 22
Runtime: 102 minutes
Age rating: TV-14 (US) / TV-PG (UK)
Director: Amber Sealey
Cast: Phoebe-Rae Taylor, Jennifer Aniston, Rosemarie DeWitt, Luke Kirby, Michael Chernus, Courtney Taylor, and Judith Light
Rotten Tomatoes (RT) score: 100% (critics); 93% (audiences)
Based on Sharon M. Draper's bestselling novel of the same name, Out Of My Mind stars Phoebe Rae-Taylor as Melody Brooks, a sixth grader with cerebral palsy who, because she's non-verbal and uses a wheelchair, isn't given the same opportunities as her classmates. However, when a young tutor recognizes Melody's untapped potential, this quick-witted and bright pupil is given a platform to fully express herself. I'm going to admit that Out Of My Mind wasn't on my radar until recently, but its powerful message and themes, coupled with its superb cast performances, confirms it's one of those rare Disney Plus Movie Originals (one with a perfect RT score, too) that's unmissable.
Deadpool and Wolverine
Release date: November 12
Runtime: 130 minutes
Age rating: R (US) / 18 (UK)
Director: Shawn Levy
Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfayden, Morena Baccarin, and Rob Delaney among others
Rotten Tomatoes (RT) score: 79% (critics); 94% (audiences)
I'm going to be completely honest: I love Deadpool and Wolverine. I know some people thought it was too chaotic for its own good, while others called the Marvel Phase 5 flick a mere cash grab with a piecemeal plot. While I can understand those sentiments, neither of those negatives detracted from me having an absolute blast when I watched the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie during an advanced press screening in mid-July. It's hilarious, poignant, action-packed, and brilliantly gory. The sheer volume of cameos in Deadpool and Wolverine is something to behold, too. Before you spoil its biggest character surprises and/or ruin Deadpool and Wolverine's ending for yourself ahead of time, read my Deadpool and Wolverine review, stream it, and then get the spoiler-filled lowdown on The Merc with a Mouth and his adamantium-clawed bestie's multiversal adventure.
Music By Jon Williams

Runtime: 105 minutes
Age rating: PG (US) / 12A (UK)
Director: Laurent Bouzereau
Cast: John Williams, Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard, J.J. Abrams, George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, and James Mangold among others
Rotten Tomatoes (RT) score: 100% (critics); 98% (audiences)

John Williams' music is synonymous with so many film franchises and standalone movies that I've seen throughout my life. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Superman: The Movie, Jaws, Schindler's List, E.T, Jurassic Park... the list goes on and on. The arrival of this docufilm celebrating the life and works of the legendary composer, then, is one I can't afford to miss – and I implore any film buff, regardless of whether they enjoy Williams' scores or not, to check it out, because it's full of unheard stories and anecdotal information about the famous US musician that'll endear him further to, well, anyone. A long overdue and worthy documentary to one of the best there's ever been – and ever will be.
