The Redmi 10A will go on sale today for the first time at a starting price of Rs 8,499 on Amazon, Mi.com and Mi Home stores. Many consumers in India continue to invest in entry-level smartphones that are capable of handling most basic tasks without breaking the bank.

The Redmi 10A was launched alongside the Redmi 10 Power last week and features a MediaTek g25 octa-core processor at the heart of the device. It comes with a 5,000 mAh battery pack and runs on the latest version of MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.

Xiaomi has in the past seen the largest sale numbers from the most basic Redmi models and the Redmi 10A is the latest offering from the company. However, there are also other choices from competitors if you’re on the lookout to get one yourself. One such competing device is Realme’s C31 which was launched last month.

Here is everything you need to know about the first sale of Xiaomi Redmi 10A and how it compares with the Realme C31.

Redmi 10A price and availability

The Redmi 10A smartphone will go on sale today at 12 noon on Amazon, Mi.com and Mi Home stores. The device is available in three colour options - Charcoal Black, Sea Blue and Slate Grey.

The smartphone retails for Rs 8,499 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model while the 4GB RAM and 64GB model is priced at Rs 9,499.

The Redmi 10A and Realme C1 both share a few similarities when it comes to their features. The devices come with a 6.5-inch HD+ display, sport a 5,000 mAh battery pack (with 10W fast chargers in the box) and run their respective versions of custom ROM based on Android 11.

However, there are a few differences between the two devices that could help you decide which one to choose from. The Redmi 10A comes with a MediaTek Helio G25 SoC while the Realme C31 comes with a Unisoc 612 processor that was recently also added to the Narzo 50A Prime making it a good chipset choice for light gaming sessions.

The Realme C31 comes with a triple camera setup which includes a 13-megapixel primary lens, a secondary macro lens and a black and white lens. On the other hand, Redmi 10A only includes a 13-megapixel camera at the back.

While both the devices feature a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, the Redmi 10A benefits from the AI Face Unlock feature. And if you are keen on having a lightweight device, then it comes in at 194 grams.

If the looks and feel of a device are also a factor that you would like to consider, then the Realme gets a point there with its premium finish at the back with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. On the Redmi 10A, you’ll find the fingerprint scanner at the back of the device.
