Black Friday phone deals 2024: the lowest prices on new Galaxy, iPhone, Pixels and more
We're seeing great deals on the best phones right now
We're still more than a week from Black Friday, but Black Friday phone deals are heating up, with Samsung offering aggressive discounts on Galaxy phones and bundles with phones, Galaxy Watches, and Galaxy Buds. TechRadar readers like you can get immediate access to Samsung's Black Friday sale, and we have some of the best deals listed below.
We're also seeing early Black Friday deals from mobile carriers, so if you are ready to switch or sign up for a long-term agreement, you can get a big discount on a new smartphone from Verizon, AT&T, Boost Mobile, or Mint Mobile.
If you are shopping for a phone deal this Black Friday season, I'd recommend bookmarking this page and checking back often. In the meantime, check out today's best Black Friday phone deals below.
Today's best phone deals ahead of Black Friday
- iPhone 16 series: free with a new line, plus free iPad at Verizon
- Galaxy S24 series: $250 off, or up to $800 off with a trade-in at Samsung
- iPhone 16 series: up to $1,000 off with a trade-in at AT&T
- iPhone 16 Pro: device, plus unlimited plan for $65/mo at Boost Mobile
- Google Pixel 9: $620 off with a new line, or up to $800 off with a trade-in at Verizon
- Google Pixel 9: was $799 now $399 at Mint Mobile
- Apple trade-in: save up to $600 on a new iPhone with a trade
Everything about this mobile phone is big. The size, the specs, the performance, and especially the camera. All of these made it our pick for one of the best phones you can buy right now. It now also helps that the cost is dramatically reduced thanks to this Black Friday deal. As well as a free double storage upgrade to 512GB, you can also get up to $800 off (if you trade a Galaxy S23 Ultra) and snag the top Samsung flagship for an incredibly low price.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a great choice if you've got a serious interest in upgrading to a shiny foldable flagship. Today's early Black Friday deal at Samsung offers a free storage upgrade to the mid-tier 512GB model as well as the option to trade in for a massive rebate of up to $1,200. No device to hand over? You can also take an instant $500 discount on the foldable that we thought edged closer to perfection in our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 review.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 might just be the most powerful foldable smartphone yet. This deal offers an enhanced trade-in rebate of up to $750 on both the 256GB and 512GB models. This flip phone flaunts an improved battery that allegedly offers up to 68 hours of music listening and 23 hours of video watching, a durable IP48 dust and water-resistant build, AI features that improve picture quality all packed into its portable, lightweight design.
Apple iPhone 16: free with a new unlimited line, plus free iPad and Apple Watch at Verizon
My favorite iPhone deal in the build-up to Black Friday is Verizon's current promo on the iPhone 16. The carrier has just bumped up its promotion on this awesome device to offer not just a free phone, but also a free iPad and Apple Watch. Note, you will need a new line on an Ultimate unlimited plan here and these accessories also need their own cellular lines ($15/mo total extra) if you're going to claim them. Still, this is an amazing promotion overall if you're looking to upgrade and want a high-end device to go alongside a high-end postpaid unlimited plan.
Apple iPhone 16 Pro: free with a trade-in plus free iPad and Apple Watch at Verizon
Another superb phone deal ahead of Black Friday at Verizon - those same freebies can be found with the iPhone 16 Pro. To get a free phone here you'll need to trade-in an old device to get the $1,000 rebate but this is again one of the best possible deals you can get right now if you're looking for a post-paid unlimited plan. Note, however, that you will need to pay a little bit extra per month for the accessory cellular lines, even if you claim a free iPad and Apple Watch.
Google Pixel 9: was $799 now $399, plus one year of unlimited data for $180 at Mint Mobile
This isn't a new promotion but Mint Mobile's current deal on the Google Pixel 9 is easily my favorite prepaid option in the build-up to Black Friday. Right now the carrier is giving new customers a massive $400 price cut on this awesome flagship device as well as one full year of unlimited data for just $15/mo. That's the cheapest possible price you can get for the unlimited plan at Mint Mobile so I highly recommend checking this one out if you're looking for a cost-effective plan + phone combo.
Black Friday phone deals 2024: FAQs
When will the Black Friday phone deals start?
Black Friday 2024 falls on November 29th but we're seeing early deals from the mobile carriers, as well as phone makers like Samsung, which is offering deals directly to TechRadar readers through its own online store and app.
We're going to keep digging and updating this page as we approach the big sales weekend. Generally speaking, the deals tend to get better as we get closer to Black Friday, and we see new deals through the weekend until the so-called Cyber Monday sales day.
What Black Friday phone deals should I expect?
Both carriers and retailers will be offering Black Friday phone deals so you should have plenty of options for both unlocked devices and devices tied to the usual unlimited plans.
We're seeing big discount on Samsung's latest Galaxy S24 family of phones and Galaxy Z foldable phones, especially if you have a relatively new phone to trade for Samsung's latest.
The biggest overall discounts this Black Friday will be from major carriers like Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. These carriers perennially offer trade-in rebates of up to $1,000 off or more. You can often get a free iPad and Apple Watches if you add those to your monthly network plan. Overall, these are steep discounts, but they require a payment plan agreement and you have to sign up for one of the more expensive monthly plans to qualify.
What retailers will have the best Black Friday phone deals
I've outlined what to expect in more detail above but here's a quick list of the retailers I'm expecting to have the best Black Friday phone deals this year:
Amazon: record low prices on Google, Samsung, and Motorola
Verizon: up to $1,000 off the latest models with trade-ins
Samsung: up to $1,200 off the Fold 6, Flip 6, and Galaxy S24 series
Apple: up to $650 off iPhone 16, iPhone 14 from $599
AT&T: up to $1,000 off iPhones, Galaxy S24, and more
Best Buy: big savings on all iPhones
Walmart: cheap cell phone deals starting at $40
Why trust TechRadar this Black Friday
TechRadar has not only been covering Black Friday phone deals for over ten years now but we actually cover cell phone deals throughout the year day-in-day-out. That means we know exactly how to sort out the ordinary from the gold over Black Friday for our readers.
We've also personally tested and reviewed hundreds of phones over the years, which means our team of experts has true hands-on experience with all the latest devices from Apple, Google, Samsung, and other leading brands. We know the strengths and weaknesses of each one - and which one will be the best value this Black Friday.
Last year's best Black Friday phone deals
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: was $1,199.99 now $899.99 at Amazon
Score yourself a fully unlocked Galaxy S23 Ultra with 256GB of storage for less in this record-setting Black Friday deal. With a gorgeous display, powerful chipset, and outstanding cameras, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is a fantastic choice; in fact, we rate it as one of the best phones money can buy right now. If you need more storage, the 512GB model is on sale, too.
Google Pixel 8 Pro: was $999 now $799 at Amazon
Google's best Pixel is still getting a great discount; it dropped by $210 to its lowest price ever for Black Friday and though it's now risen by $10 that's still a big saving. This is a fantastic Pixel phone, with great cameras and cool new AI features that you'll only find on Pixel. The best part is that Google promised to support this phone for seven years, longer than any other phone, so this great deal will pay off long term.
Google Pixel 8: was $699 now $549 at Amazon
The Pixel 8 gets its first big price drop, and it's a great deal if you're looking for a solid Android phone that's also a great long term investment. The humble Pixel 8 has the same processor as the Pixel 8 Pro, and Google has promised to support this phone for seven years. For this price, that's less than $80 a year. We may see cheaper Pixel phones to come, but if you need a great new Android now, this is a very big price cut for such a new phone.
Google Pixel Fold: was $1,799 now $1,399 at Amazon
The first foldable phone from Google gets a massive price drop for Black Friday, making the most competitive of the tablet foldables. This price is a whopping $350 less than the lowest we've seen since this phone launched in August. If you're into what Google is doing on big screens, go grab this phone, which has Pixel cameras and special AI features only Pixel phones feature.
Motorola Razr (2023): was $699.99 now $499.99 at Amazon
Maybe even more amazing than the low price on the Razr Plus, you can now get the Motorola Razr (2023) for just under $500 in the US. This is one of the best deals we've ever seen on a foldable phone. The bigger cover display makes the Plus a worthwhile upgrade, but the Razr is stylish and compact, and one of the coolest phones you can buy in 2023.
iPhone 15: up to $650 off with a trade-in at Apple
You won't find the best trade-in rebates with Apple's own iPhone 15 deals, but you will find options for unlocked devices specifically. Right now, you can get up to $650 off with a trade-in at the official store, which is still pretty good and enough to cut that hefty price tag for a new model right down to size. To get the full amount ($650), you'll have to trade in an iPhone 14 Pro Max or equivalent device, although those handing over an iPhone 14 can still get a decent $430 off a new device.
iPhone 13: was $699 now $599 at Apple
If you'd rather pick up a box-fresh iPhone 13 for slightly more money, then Apple itself has cut the upfront cost of its 2021 flagship phone by a further $100. The iPhone 13 was already reduced by $100 following the release of the iPhone 14 last year, but now that the iPhone 15 is out, it's even better value than before. Apple also operates its own trade-in program that can be used to knock a few further bucks off the upfront cost of a new device (useful if you've got an existing iPhone model to dispose of).
iPhone 14 Pro: was $999 now $899 at Walmart
If you'd rather pay for the device in full, Walmart has both the silver and gold variants of the iPhone 14 Pro at just $899 right now, although you'll need to open up a plan with the retailer's exclusive carrier partner, Straight Talk, to benefit from the saving. Still, $899 is a better deal than you'll find anywhere else for the iPhone 14 Pro at present.
iPhone 15 Pro: up to $1,000 off with a trade-in, plus free iPad and Apple Watch at Verizon
Here we go folks – this is our favorite trade-in rebate available right now on Verizon. While the maximum saving of $1,000 off is nothing new on the excellent iPhone 15 Pro, Verizon is currently letting you hand over any iPhone model to achieve that maximum rebate. That means you can potentially hand over an old beater and get a shiny new iPhone 15 Pro in return – plus, the free Apple Watch and iPad that we've already outlined above. Note, though, that this promo is only eligible with a new line on an unlimited data plan (upgraders can get up to $830 off).
Select Android devices: get a free Galaxy Tablet and Galaxy Watch 6 with an unlimited plan at Verizon
More into your Android devices? Good news - Verizon is also giving away some serious freebies with select flagships from Google and Samsung. As with on the latest iPhones, you'll be able to bundle in a free Galaxy Watch 6 and a Galaxy Tab S9 FE on the house when you pick up a phone alongside a new line on an unlimited data plan. This stacks on top of the current trade-in rebates of up to $1,000 on the Google Pixel 8 Pro, the Galaxy S23 series, and the Google Fold.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: up to $1,000 off with a trade, plus free tablet and smartwatch at Verizon
Another one of our favorite trade-in options in the Verizon Black Friday sale this week, you can currently hand over any Samsung model to get a whopping $1,000 off the stunning Galaxy S23 Ultra. This is one of our favorite phones here at TechRadar - and winner of the TechRadar reader's choice awards for 2023, so getting such a big price cut is definitely worth considering. You can also bundle in that free Galaxy Watch 6 and a Galaxy Tab S9 FE - two freebies that are worth well over $800 by themselves. See this deal on the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus.
Google Pixel 8 Pro: up to $1,000 off with a trade-in, plus free tablet and smartwatch at Verizon
Another recommended trade-in for today's Black Friday Verizon deals: the excellent Google Pixel 8 Pro. This flagship is fresh off the presses but you can still get it for free right now by trading in any Google device. Plus, as with other flagships, you can bundle in that free Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Tab S9 FE to get some serious freebie action. As with other devices, however, you will need a new line on an unlimited data plan to be eligible for the best possible trade-in here.
iPhone 15: was $23.05/mo now $21.90/mo at Best Buy
iPhone 15 discounts are few and far between this Black Friday, but Best Buy is at least offering you the chance to save $41 over the course of a 36-month plan with AT&T or Verizon (that's $1.15/mo – slightly bigger savings are available on larger storage models). Sure, that's not a huge discount, but the real sweetener here is Best Buy's included extras: you'll get a free $30 Best Buy gift card with your purchase, plus the usual three months of Apple TV Plus, Apple Music and Apple Arcade. Similar deals are available on all storage variants of the iPhone 15.
iPhone 15 Pro: was $27.77/mo now $26.38/mo at Best Buy
Best Buy is also offering similar Black Friday deals on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. For instance, across 36 months, you can currently save $50 on the 128GB variant of the iPhone 15 Pro, or up to $75 dollars on various storage configurations of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Again, you'll get a free $30 Best Buy gift card (plus all the Apple extras) included with your purchase.
iPhone 15 Pro Max: device and unlimited data for $65.55/mo at Boost Infinite
Amazon's new and exclusive mobile partner, Boost Infinite, is currently offering the newly released iPhone 15 Pro Max for just $65.55 per month with no upfront fee. For that price, you'll get an unlimited data plan and the option to upgrade one year down the line – which is pretty fantastic considering the price of this all-inclusive plan is competitive with a standalone unlimited data plan at one of the major carriers by itself.
iPhone 14 Pro: was $25/mo now $15/mo at AT&T
The iPhone 14 Pro is still a mightily expensive buy, but AT&T has at least cut the phone's monthly cost by a whole $10 per month if you opt for one of the carrier's unlimited plans (which, incidentally, have also been discounted by $10). The cheapest is the Unlimited Starter Plan, which – when combined with that new monthly device price – will now set you back $80/mo, rather than $100/mo. That doesn't sound like a lot, but over 36 months, you'll save $720. Verizon is also offering iPhone 14 Pro discounts right now, but even with the phone itself now free, the carrier's cheapest qualifying tariff is a slightly-more-expensive $85/mo.
