If you’ve ever dreaded changing the cartridge on a laser printer then HP have just the thing for you. The company today revealed the availability of their first cartridge-free printer – the HP Neverstop Laser, in the UAE.
Before you get too excited and think that you’ll never see toner again, things are a little bit different this time around.
The HP Neverstop Laser works with a special HP Reload kit – it’s essentially a giant plastic syringe filled with toner. You simply screw it into place in a special slot on the printer, plunge down to deposit the toner into the machine, and then unscrew it. HP says that the entire process takes around 15 seconds, and the Neverstop Laser can print up to 5,000 pages right out of the box for interruption-free printing.
It’s geared towards SMBs and startup companies that don’t have time to troubleshoot various printer issues, and just want to get up and running with various print jobs as quickly as possible.
The printer also supports HP’s Smart App to allow for printing directly from your phone and from other services such as Dropbox and Google Drive.
The HP Neverstop Laser is available in a number of configurations that support scan, copy, and wireless printing, and will retail in the UAE for AED 1,149, including VAT. At the moment it’s only available with monochrome printing, with no word from HP if the same tech will make the jump to color laser printing.
