Trailer of Mohanlal starrer 12th Man is out - To premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar
It's directed by Jeethu Joseph
Mohanlal is a superstar of Indian film industry who doesn't mind having his movies releasing directly on OTT platforms. Normally big stars tend to prefer theatrical premieres.
Mohanlal has been adroitly mixing it between theatres and streaming platforms. His Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham and Aaraattu went to the theatres first, while his fun-filled Bro Daddy premiered on Disney+ Hotstar.
Now his next 12th Man is also set for direct release on Disney+ Hotstar. The exact date of its release is not out yet.
But what is out is the film's teaser, and by the looks of it, this Jeethu Joseph movie will be another of those thrillers that we expect from him.
The director had earlier worked with Mohanlal with Drishyam and the even more sensational Drishyam 2. Both of which were crowd- and critics-pleasers. The Drishyam series has been a big hit and has been remade in multiple languages.
Everyone has a secret side
Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Unni Mukundan, Saiju Kurup, Rahul Madhav, Anu Sithara, Leona Lishoy, Shine Tom Chacko, Anusree, Chandunadh, Santhi Maya Devi, Aditi Ravi, Veena Nandakumar, Sshivada, and Priyanka Nair. Mohanlal's favourite producer Antony Perumbavoor is producing it under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
The teaser shows a celebration happening in the courtyard of an apartment complex. The party is full of smile, however, at the end of it all there is only rain and silence. Something eerie seems to have happened in-between. The party of 11 people has had an 12th unexpected visitor.

The teaser, mostly wordless, comes with three captions that read: Everyone has a public life, a private life and a secret life. Mohanlal makes his entry in the end, with the line, "It’s time to blow the final whistle."
The story is speculated to be based on the well known thriller An Inspector Calls, which was first made as a theatre movie and then returned as a British TV film. It is centred on a mysterious inspector, who investigates the socially ambitious family and a dinner guest following the suicide of a young woman. Every family member seems to have a secret and the story follows the events of a single night. But we reiterate, that 12th Man being a reprise of this film is only a media speculation as of now.
