Black Friday is just over a week away, and we're starting to see some serious Black Friday phone deals from phone makers and retailers alike. We're seeing especially bold moves from Samsung as part of the Samsung Black Friday sale, which TechRadar readers can access right now. The Google Black Friday sale has also kicked off in earnest, with deals across the Pixel 9 lineup.

Mobile carriers like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Boost Mobile, and Mint Mobile are also offering some great Black Friday deals, so signing on for a new contract around now could be worthwhile long-term, especially with major discounts available on the phones themselves.

We'll be updating this page with the best phone deals up until the big day itself, so feel free to save the page for later. We'd recommend checking in regularly in the run up to Black Friday, which lands on November 29 this year.

Today's best phone deals ahead of Black Friday

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: was $1,419.99 now $499.99 at Samsung

Everything about this mobile phone is big. The screen, the specs, the performance, and especially the cameras. All of these make it our pick for one of the best phones you can buy. You pay for that performance, but the cost is dramatically reduced thanks to this Black Friday deal. Doubling the storage to 512GB, you can also get up to $800 off (if you trade a Galaxy S23 Ultra) and snag the Samsung flagship for an incredibly low price.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6: was $2,019.99 now $619.99 at Samsung

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a great choice if you've got a serious interest in upgrading to a shiny foldable. Today's early Black Friday deal at Samsung offers a free storage upgrade to the 512GB model as well as the possibility of a massive rebate of up to $1,200 (if you trade a Galaxy S24 Ultra). No device to hand over? You can still take $500 off the price of the foldable that we thought edged closer to perfection in our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 review.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6: was $1,219.99 now $469.99 at Samsung

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 might just be the most powerful foldable smartphone yet. This deal offers an enhanced trade-in rebate of up to $750 (if you trade a Galaxy S24 Ultra) on both the 256GB and 512GB models. This flip phone flaunts an improved battery, a durable IP48 dust and water-resistant build, and AI features that improve photo quality, all packed into its portable, lightweight design.

Apple iPhone 16: free with an unlimited plan, plus free iPad and Apple Watch at VerizoniPhone 16 Plus

Apple iPhone 16: free with an unlimited plan, plus free iPad and Apple Watch at Verizon
If you're looking for the standard iPhone 16, the good news is that you don't even need to trade in another device to get one for free right now at Verizon. Eligible with a new line on an Ultimate Unlimited plan, you'll be saving a massive $829 ($23.05/mo for 36 months) on device costs here. In addition, Verizon is also throwing in an iPad 10.9 (yes, a whole iPad) and an Apple Watch Series 10. Note, however, that you will need to add an additional cellular line ($10/mo) if you want to claim the free iPad or Apple Watch, as well as a one-time activation fee of $35. A similar deal is also available on the iPhone 16 Plus right now.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro: save $200 with an AT&T plan at Walmart

Apple iPhone 15 Pro: save $200 with an AT&T plan at Walmart
Walmart has slashed the device-only price of the excellent iPhone 15 Pro from $1,049 to $849 ahead of Black Friday ($23.59/mo over 36 months). You'll need to purchase a suitable AT&T plan to qualify for the saving, but if you're not yet convinced by the iPhone 16 and still fancy taking Apple Intelligence for a spin, this is a great-value handset that'll remain supported with updates until at least 2028.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max: save $200 with a Verizon plan at Walmart

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max: save $200 with a Verizon plan at Walmart
As with the iPhone 15 Pro, Walmart is also offering the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max for a cut price ahead of Black Friday. For this deal, you'll need to purchase a suitable Verizon plan to qualify for the saving, but a $29/mo device-only price is quite remarkable considering that the iPhone 15 Pro Max cost almost double that figure only a year or so ago (even before adding a data plan on top).

Apple iPhone 14 Plus
Apple iPhone 14 Plus: was $729.99 now $679.99 at Best Buy

Best Buy is offering a SIM-free iPhone 14 Plus for just $679.99 ahead of Black Friday, or an even better $579.99 if you buy the phone alongside selected Verizon or AT&T plans. We're less critical of the iPhone 14 Plus versus the standard iPhone 14 given its mightily impressive battery life and gorgeous, Max-sized screen. You'll get the Dynamic Island and a 48MP camera from the more expensive iPhone 15 Plus, but if you can forgo those features, the iPhone 14 Plus for $679.99 (or even $579.99!) is a strong pre-Black Friday deal.

Apple iPhone 15
Apple iPhone 15: was $729.99 now $579.99 at Best Buy

Best Buy has knocked a whopping $150 off the price of the iPhone 15 ahead of Black Friday, though you'll have to purchase a new Verizon or AT&T plan to qualify for the discount. The cheapest right now is $65/mo (or $75/mo until you enroll in paperless billing) plus a $35 activation fee. Sure, that's not exactly cheap, but Best Buy's $150 discount on the device itself makes this iPhone 15 deal one of the best around ahead of Black Friday itself. You can trade in your existing device for an even bigger saving, too, and a similar deal is available on the larger iPhone 15 Plus.

Google Pixel 9: $799 $399, plus one year of unlimited data for $180 at Mint Mobile

Google Pixel 9: was $799 now $399, plus one year of unlimited data for $180 at Mint Mobile
This isn't a new promotion but Mint Mobile's current deal on the Google Pixel 9 is easily my favorite prepaid option in the build-up to Black Friday. Right now the carrier is giving new customers a massive $400 price cut on this awesome flagship device as well as one full year of unlimited data for just $15/mo. That's the cheapest possible price you can get for the unlimited plan at Mint Mobile so I highly recommend checking this one out if you're looking for a cost-effective plan + phone combo.

Google Pixel 8
Google Pixel 8: was $699 now $499 at Amazon

This deal brings a welcome $200 discount to the Google Pixel 8, a powerful phone that still keeps up with today's flagship handsets. The Pixel 8 is a compact powerhouse driven by the latest version of Android 15, with a 6.2-inch display, 50MP main camera, and Google's own Tensor G3 chipset. Our Pixel 8 review found the phone to be full of surprises, from its strong customization to its all-day battery life.

When will the Black Friday phone deals start?

Black Friday 2024 falls on November 29th but we're seeing early deals from the mobile carriers, as well as phone makers like Samsung, which is offering deals directly to TechRadar readers through its own online store and app.

We're going to keep digging and updating this page as we approach the big sales weekend. Generally speaking, the deals tend to get better as we get closer to Black Friday, and we see new deals through the weekend until the so-called Cyber Monday sales day.

What Black Friday phone deals should I expect?

Both carriers and retailers will be offering Black Friday phone deals so you should have plenty of options for both unlocked devices and devices tied to the usual unlimited plans.

We're seeing big discount on Samsung's latest Galaxy S24 family of phones and Galaxy Z foldable phones, especially if you have a relatively new phone to trade for Samsung's latest.

The biggest overall discounts this Black Friday will be from major carriers like Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. These carriers perennially offer trade-in rebates of up to $1,000 off or more. You can often get a free iPad and Apple Watches if you add those to your monthly network plan. Overall, these are steep discounts, but they require a payment plan agreement and you have to sign up for one of the more expensive monthly plans to qualify.

What retailers will have the best Black Friday phone deals

I've outlined what to expect in more detail above but here's a quick list of the retailers I'm expecting to have the best Black Friday phone deals this year:

Amazon: record low prices on Google, Samsung, and Motorola
Verizon: up to $1,000 off the latest models with trade-ins
Samsung: up to $1,200 off the Fold 6, Flip 6, and Galaxy S24 series
Apple: up to $650 off iPhone 16, iPhone 14 from $599
AT&T: up to $1,000 off iPhones, Galaxy S24, and more
Best Buy: big savings on all iPhones
Walmart: cheap cell phone deals starting at $40

Why trust TechRadar this Black Friday
