Xiaomi is finally making its debut in the tablet market of India with the launch of the Xiaomi Pad 5. The tablet has been rolled out in the country alongside the much-awaited Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G smartphone. The Xiaomi tablet and its Pro variant are already available in China.

Considering what we are seeing in the name of tablets in the Indian market, yes we are talking about Realme Pad and Realme Pad Mini, we can expect that the Xiaomi Pad will grab a dominant position soon. The Pad runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor.

However, in the upcoming months, Xiaomi Pad 5 will be challenged by premium tablets from companies like OnePlus and Oppo. As we all know that Oppo Pad comes with a Snapdragon 870 processor, it will clearly outclass the Xiaomi tablet in terms of performance.

As for the pricing, the 6GB variant of Xiaomi Pad 5 with 128GB internal storage is available at a price of Rs 26,999. On the other hand, the 6GB RAM variant of the tablet with 256GB storage can be purchased for Rs 28,999.

The introductory price of the 128GB variant is Rs 24,999 and the 256GB internal storage is available for Rs 26,999. The first sale of the pad is scheduled to be held on May 3rd starting at 12:00 PM IST.

Xiaomi Pad 5 comes equipped with a 10.95-inch WQXGA E5 AMOLED 10-bit display coupled with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. With a large screen, the tablet promises to provide enhanced viewing and gaming experience to the users.

In addition, the tablet gets TrueTone True colour display, HDR10, and Dolby Vision support. The Xiaomi Pad 5 houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor paired with Adreno 640 GPU. It consists of 6GB RAM along with 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.

The tablet operates on MIUI Pad operating system. It draws power from an 8720mAh battery that also has 33W fast charging support. However, it will be shipped with a 22.5W charger in the box.  In the new MIUI OS, the brand has introduced a new app dock along with unique gestures to accomplish tasks. The tablet includes a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.

The Pad will be coupled with the Xiaomi Smart Pen that will get charged from zero to 100% in just 18 minutes. It weighs around 12.2 grams and has a matte finish with a precision tip. The Pen gets magnetically charged by just sticking to the tablet.

The tablets also support active palm rejection making it easy to create notes and designs while avoiding the ghost touch. Furthermore, the brand also announced the Xiaomi Pad Keyboard.

One thing which we are sure of is that the tablet will attract a decent amount of users with the surety of power-packed performance. Nonetheless, the pad could have done much better with the inclusion of the Snapdragon 870 processor.
