You can now reserve the uniquely capable UMi Plus E for only $199

At long last, the wait is finally over for the UMi Plus E powerhouse of a smartphone. That’s because, on November 11, subscriptions went live to reserve UMI’s premium quality handset for the low cost of $199.99 (about £160, AU$267).

Thanks to the new 2.3Ghz Helio P20 chipset, the UMi Plus E is capable of 20% higher CPU performance over its predecessor, the Helio P10. What’s more, the 64-bit, 900MHz Mali-T880 brings GPU efficiency up by 25%, meaning games and graphically intensive apps will run faster and smoother than ever before.

That goes without mentioning the UMi Plus E’s whopping 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, which is significantly more than what can be found on modern flagship devices. Storage-wise you can expect a sizable 64GB of eMMC 5.1 flash, though if need be, you can add 256GB more using microSD card tech.

Plenty of storage means a gaping container for 4K videos captured with the Samsung-produced 13MP camera. Complemented by a 0.1-second, high-speed Phase Detection AutoFocus technology, you can take myriad pictures as quickly and as effortlessly as possible without conceding quality.

All of this means nothing if the phone can’t sustain an entire day’s work. Luckily, the UMi Plus E bears a 4,000mAh Sony battery, which can be charged in 30 minutes for all-day use courtesy of the PE+ USB-C cable and adapter. However, if you’re concerned that might not be enough considering the power being dissipated from the Helio P20, you can take solace in the fact that it’s built on the 16nm FinFET, known for its conservation of heat and power-consumption.

In addition to some highly competent internal parts, the UMi Plus E comprises a 5.5-inch, full HD 1080p display featuring a 95% NTSC color gamut for realistic photo viewing and video playback. UMI claims that the contrast on the panel dynamically adjusts itself based on sunlight as well. Reading outdoors just became substantially less of a chore.

The guts of the UMi Plus E are all packed into a custom-made polycarbonate exterior made up of aluminum alloy and designed to fit in one hand. On top of that, it boasts a slim bezel, a Touch ID 2.1 fingerprint scanner and Android 6.0 Marshmallow for a familiar operating experience.

Last but not least, the sleek style of the UMi Plus E creates a unique and luxurious look. The phone has a gorgeous full black exterior, built using 6000 aerospace-class aluminum. The device comes with a deep matte finish and is called Onyx Black.

Starting November 23, 2016 at 3:00 AM PST, 6 AM EST, Umi will be offering a special and exclusive snap deal to get the unique Umi Plus E for only $199. There are only 999 Umi Plus E units available for this snap deal so make sure to enter hereat that time.

You can also reserve your own UMi Plus E here, with shipments scheduled to initiate on December 10. Swiftly enter your email address on the site by November 23 and you’ll get the luxury of pre-purchasing the UMi Plus E at the economical price tag of only $199.99 (around £160, AU$267).
