The highly anticipated Amazon Prime Day sale will be here before you know it, which means Prime Day TV deals will be available to shop soon. To help you find this year's top offers, I've created this guide to bring you all the best Prime Day TV deals and everything else you need to know about this year's 48-hour sale.

Amazon has recently announced the dates of this year's Prime Day sale, which will take place on July 16 and 17, starting at Midnight on Tuesday. While the 48-hour sale is still weeks away, early deals, including discounts on TVs, are available right now in the US. I've listed the best early TV deals below, with prices starting at just $79.99. Keep in mind that you must be an Amazon Prime member to shop today's early deals. If you're not already a member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial, which will take you through to this year's Amazon Prime Day sale.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2024?

Amazon recently announced this year's Prime Day dates, which will take place on July 16 through 17, starting at Midnight on Tuesday. While the retailer held the sale earlier in July in years past, this year's date has been pushed back to later in the month for reasons unknown.

What kind of Prime Day TV deals should I expect?

TV deals are always a popular category during Prime Day, thanks to a wide range of displays on sale from brands like Samsung, LG, Sony, Hisense, and Amazon's own lineup of Fire TVs. You can score massive savings on premium (and pricey) OLED displays and record-low prices from budget brands.

The best deals from Amazon's Prime Day sale are always on its own devices, including Amazon's Fire TV lineup, which includes HD, 4K, and QLED displays. You can find some of the lowest prices of the year, and all of the TVs include the Fire operating smart display, allowing you to stream your favorite movies and TV shows from your home screen.

We also expect to see fresh discounts on 2024 TVs, like the LG C4 OLED, Samsung's S90D OLED, and the best-selling Frame QLED TV.

Keep in mind that Amazon will not be the only retailer offering discounts during its July sale. In the US, Walmart and Best Buy typically launch competing sales that include impressive TV deals, and we'll be updating this page with the best offers from online retailers in the US and UK.

Do you need a membership to shop Prime Day TV deals?

For the vast majority of Amazon Prime Day TV deals, an Amazon Prime membership is required for the full discount. We did see a few non-Prime offers available last year, but if you're in it for the hottest sales, you'll want to pick up a subscription to the service itself. That's not as costly as it initially sounds, as Amazon offers a 30-day Amazon Prime free trial, just be sure to time your trial right.

It's also worth noting that other retailers have been attempting to hijack Amazon's glory for a few years now, running their own sales over the same period with impressive TV deals. That means you might not even need to be on Amazon to get one of the best Prime Day TV deals. Last year, we saw Best Buy and Walmart running their own discounts in the US, and while UK retailers were slower to offer up their own sales, many shops like Currys do price match with Amazon.

How to pick the best TV for you?

First things, first. What's your budget? Yes, you might be able to bump up how much you spend by a little if you find the perfect TV in this year's Prime Day sales but it's a good idea to set a limit to begin with so you don't overstretch your wallet.

Next up, work out what the best size TV is for you. We suggest measuring the space where you would like to fit your TV, but you'll want to think about viewing angels, brightness and whether you'll be able to put a bit of distance between you and the screen so you can enjoy it properly.

Lastly, there are loads of varying features out there but these often get more premium the higher the price tag so make sure you're prioritising what's best for you and your viewing needs, whether that be watching TV, hosting movie nights or playing video games.

LG A2 48-inch TV: was $1,299.99 now $599.99 at Best Buy
Away from Prime Day, Best Buy has slashed a massive $700 off the LG 48-inch A2 OLED TV. That's the best deal you can find right now and just $30 shy of the record-low price we saw during Black Friday. Named as one of our best OLED TVs and rated four out of five stars, the LG A2 packs an Alpha α7 Gen5 processor that delivers sharp images and great upscaling from HDR, and Dolby Vision HDR support makes the most of movies and TV. LG's smart software is also excellent, and the included Magic remote allows you to navigate your TV seamlessly.

Sony X90K 55-inch 4K TV: was $1,299 now $898 at Amazon
Sony’s X90K is a great all-around TV for movies and gaming, and the 55-inch version is now selling at Amazon for an all-time low of $898 – a 31% price cut. In our 65-inch X90K review, we appreciated the deep blacks delivered by its local dimming backlight while acknowledging that it wasn’t as bright as some of the competition. Gaming features are solid, however, with a 120Hz display and a Perfect for PlayStation 5 mode that automatically optimizes pictures when a PS5 is connected.

Samsung BU8500 43-inch 4K TV: was £599 now £399 at Amazon
This is another deal where the actual drop on Prime Day is as hot as it looks – this 43-inch model was made available for its record-low price of £349 again, but it's since risen back to £399. In our Samsung BU8000 review (which is the same TV as this, just with a different stand shape), we rated it as basically the best budget TV on the market, thanks to crisp 4K detail, strong colours, a good smart TV platform, and a design that looks way more premium than it should for the price.
