Ring
Combining video surveillance, motion detection, and two-way audio communication, Ring is a pioneer in the modern age of home security. While it is best known for making one of the best video doorbells and its flagship product, the Ring Video Doorbell, the company produces a wide array of home security devices, including security cameras, floodlight cameras, and alarm systems.
Founded in 2013 by Jamie Siminoff, the original vision for Ring was fairly simple. Siminoff grew frustrated at missing the sound of his doorbell and wanted a device that would help him answer the door from anywhere in the home.
Flash forward to today and the company has gone from strength to strength, culminating in its acquisition by Amazon in 2018, when it became part of Amazon’s smart home ecosystem. Ring’s products are praised for their ease of use, high-quality video and audio, and seamless integration with other smart home devices.
