Dell’s Latitude 7450 Ultralight is part of Dell’s premium business series, targeting professionals who need portable power from one of the best business laptops we've tested. Perhaps they are always on the go, or maybe they are nomads by nature. Regardless of the reason, the Dell Latitude 7450 is a fantastic option, going toe-to-toe with competitors such as the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon.

Dell Latitude 7450 Ultralight: Price & availability

The Latitude 7450 Ultralight has a wide range of configurations, from a base price of $1,859 to $2,663 for some of the highest-spec models. The Dell Latitude 7450 Ultralight is unashamedly positioned as a premium business laptop and is available through Dell’s website and authorized distributors, but bulk purchasing often brings discounts.

Dell Latitude 7450 Ultralight: Unboxing & first impressions

The Latitude 7450 Ultralight comes in eco-friendly packaging that aligns well with Dell's 2030 sustainability goals.

Right away, I was impressed with just how lightweight this computer was. I know it's called the ultralight, but it still shocked me. Further, the excellent grey/blue color was incredible in person. It's a lot like the MacBook Air's infamous Midnight color. Speaking of the MacBook Air, it's no shock that this laptop takes a lot of design language from the M2 MacBook Air, one of the most popular laptops right now, and our pick for best business MacBook.

Dell Latitude 7450 Ultralight: Design & build quality

Specs

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 7-155U, vPro, AI acceleration
RAM: 32GB DDR5, 6400MHz
Storage: 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD
Display: 14-inch QHD+ (2560x1600) touchscreen, 60Hz, Comfortview+
Ports: 2 x USB-A 3.2, 2 x Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, 3.5mm audio jack
Weight: 2.33 pounds
Battery: 57WHr, offering all-day battery life .

The Dell Latitude 7450 Ultralight is crafted with 90% recycled magnesium, allowing for durability and eco-friendly materials at the same time. The laptop passed the MIL-STD 810H durability test, showcasing how sturdy and durable it is. The hinges allow the computer to lie beyond flat, which is pretty interesting. Perhaps unintentionally, but regardless, as you can see in the photo, this laptop can lay beyond 180 degrees. Why would you ever need this? However, it is good to know that a 180-degree angle does not max out the hinge in any way.

When folding the bottom of the Laptop around to use the touch screen, the keyboard gets in the way, and I'm worried I will catch a key on the table or something.

Dell Latitude 7450 Ultralight: In use

Using this laptop for the last few weeks has been fantastic. The Latitude 7450 Ultralight excels in productivity tasks, particularly for business users who want to utilize the integrated AI features to boost productivity or those who wish to use the collaboration touchpad for virtual meetings on Teams or Zoom.

For individuals who tend to multitask (guilty), work during meetings (also guilty), or prefer to have multiple applications open simultaneously (super guilty), the Latitude 7450 is an ideal choice. Its high-performance Intel processor and ample RAM make multitasking effortless, allowing for the smooth operation of multiple business applications simultaneously.

Another thing that I appreciate about this laptop is that it doesn't compromise power because of its lightweight frame. I can get a fully capable and highly powered computer, but I barely notice it in my bag. I can even throw this in a smaller backpack for a more lightweight day away from my desk without a problem, trusting that I will have plenty of power and battery for a day's worth of work.

The screen is not the best for those who work in the creative field or need to create visually accurate content. However, if you are using this for business or anything else outside of the visual creative space, the 2560x1600 screen is plenty. It's bright enough inside you can still see it outside (though I'd avoid working in the sun... for many reasons), and it's sharp enough to be able to get work done. I love using this computer to write, work on project management, work on my business, respond to emails, and even take virtual meetings.

So far, I've had zero issues and enjoyed my time with the Dell Latitude 7450 Ultralight. This is easily one of the best laptops for working from home that I've reviewed.

The Dell Latitude 7450 Ultralight is a fantastic option for business professionals looking for portability, enterprise-grade security, and excellent connectivity. Its lightweight design and AI-driven features make it perfect for on-the-go use. However, its high price and display could be drawbacks for those seeking a crisp display or those planning on doing any graphic or visually creative work.
