When it comes to picking our workplace hardware, sustainability has never been more important. With SMBs and enterprises wanting to make an environmentally-friendly technology choice, picking a supplier that really shows they care about the future is increasingly vital.

As one of the world's leading technology providers, ASUS has been at the forefront of sustainability and ESG initiatives, ensuring that its products are up to the highest environmental standards so that its customers can be sure they are making the right choice.

The company recently launched a major sustainability campaign that looks to help it create a net-zero business focused on the importance of the circular economy from end-to-end. Focusing on four key pillars (climate action, circular economy, responsible manufacturing and value creation) ASUS is striving to make sure each and every one of its customers is part of its environmental journey.

The company has set out a host of sustainability goals to be met by 2025, including the use of 100% responsibly-sourced minerals from qualified smelters, asking key suppliers to achieve a reduction of 30% in their carbon intensity, and a push to ensure each year's key products demonstrate energy efficiency that’s 30% above the Energy Star standard.

Already, over 90% of ASUS laptops meet the key EPEAT and ENERGY STAR® 8.0 sustainability standards, so buyers can be sure they are making the ethical choice. ASUS is also looking to ensure a longer product life cycle for all its output by focusing on product quality, functionality, durability, and upgradability.

By 2030, the company also hopes to be using 100% renewable energy in global operations centres, and by 2050 will be leading the world when it comes to net zero and innovative technologies that remove residual emissions.

This sustainability focus can be seen in the design and build of ASUS's most popular products.

The ASUS ExpertBook B9400CB is the world's first carbon neutral commercial laptop, surpassing ENERGY STAR standards thanks to its use of post-industrial recycled metal and FSC Mix-certified paper, reducing its carbon footprint, whilst also offsetting residual emissions with nature-based carbon credits.

This focus on being green doesn't mean that the ExpertBook B9400CB loses any capabilities or innovations, as it sports a 14-inch HD display, lightning-fast Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and enterprise-grade security, all powered by up to 12th Gen Intel Core vPro i7 processor, and a 66Wh lithium-polymer battery that can provide up to 16 hours battery life.

Overall, ASUS has actively procured and employed 1,500 tons of PCR (Post-consumer recycled) plastic since 2017, along with over 20,000 tons of recycled paper in 2022 alone, with these sustainable materials being used across the full product manufacturing and packaging process.

The company is also highlighting the importance of recyclability, with over 40,000 tons of electronic waste (e-waste) being recycled in recent years - showing that being sustainable across the board is an achievable goal no matter the size of your business.

So if you're looking for a technology partner for your business that really cares about putting sustainability and the environment as a priority, then ASUS could be for you - you can read more about the company's ESG initiatives here.
