MiniTool Partition Wizard: Plans and pricing

There's a free version of the Partition Wizard that anyone can use. However, it provides access to only the basic partition management functions, such as creating, deleting, and formatting partitions or moving and resizing them. If you want more advanced features like file format conversion, you'll need to pay for one of the two premium packages; Pro and Pro Platinum.

The Pro plan costs $59 for an annual subscription for each PC, while the Pro Platinum plan costs $109 for an annual license for 3 PCs. The pricing of this software is significantly costlier than most competing products, some of which offer lifetime licenses for what MiniTool charges for an annual license.

MiniTool Partition Wizard: Features

Partition Wizard offers many noteworthy features, including;

Partition refers to the creation of one or more regions on a disk so that the user can manage each region separately. Each region is called a partition and operates like individual hard disks. Hence, system administrators often employ partitioning to make managing files easier, and that's the core function of MiniTool's Partition Wizard.

This software lets you create partitions in a few steps. On the dashboard, you can select a disk on your system and split it into different partitions at the click of a button. After creating a partition, it operates as if it’s a separate disk.

In a similar way, you can delete a partition without difficulty as soon as you don’t need it. Likewise, you can format partitions just like you'll do with a hard disk.

With this tool, you can move non-adjacent partitions together for the purpose of extending them. Extension in this case means spreading the contents of a partition into multiple other drives when it gets full. On the main interface, select the partition you want to work on, then click Move/Resize Partition from the action pane to resize them without losing data.

MiniTool’s Partition Wizard lets you merge two or more partitions into one without losing any data. Inversely, you can split a hard drive into two or more partitions for data-saving purposes.

If you want to wipe the contents of a disk or partition, then this tool is your perfect companion. You can erase the data completely in a way that no one can recover them.

You can use this software to copy all the data from one partition to another without any loss in transit. This process saves users much time compared to comparing files directly. When the Partition Wizard is copying a partition, it automatically turns on power-off protection such that if the power to your system turns off, your data won't get corrupted.

FAT and NTFS are two file systems for storing the contents of a disk in a Windows operating system. FAT refers to the File Allocation Table file system that describes the status of the clusters in a file system and the relationship between each. It has several limitations, such as allowing a maximum of 4GB in size, and it also doesn't support file permissions.

On the other hand, the New Technology File System (NTFS) supports very large files, different file permissions, encryption, and compression when running out of space. It also automatically repairs files/folders in the case of power failures or errors, making it the better option of the two. With MiniTool’s Partition Wizard, you can easily convert partition file formats from FAT to NTFS.

In some cases, this software lets you recover lost/deleted partitions, that is, as long as you haven't created a new partition. Thanks to this feature, you're sure that you can always recover any data lost due to errors or malware.

Space Analyzer is a tool embedded within Partition Wizard that lets users scan their hard drives and understand which files and folders occupy more space. You can also use this tool to explore the files on your hard drive and delete unnecessary ones.

The Space Analyzer supports all types of hard drives like SSD, HDD, and even removable ones like a USB flash drive.

Partition Wizard lets you create bootable media, which refers to a removable storage medium from which your PC can boot its operating system. You’ll need one in case your computer can’t boot up normally due to errors.

MiniTool Partition Wizard: Interface and use

We found it easy to download the setup file from Partition Wizard and install it on our computer during testing. The installation took just a few minutes from start to finish. The main interface of the software is also minimal and uncluttered, making it easy to navigate.

MiniTool Partition Wizard: Support

On the official MiniTool Partition Wizard website, you can access a lot of detailed tutorials and user guides that’ll help you work around the software if you encounter any difficulties. If these resources aren’t good enough for you, you can contact MiniTool’s support team through email and wait for a response. There’s no live chat or telephone support, which we consider a drawback given the high price of the software.

MiniTool Partition Wizard: The competition

Well-known alternatives to this software include Acronis Cyber Protect, AOMEI Backupper, and Macrium Reflect. Partition Wizard provides similar features to these competing products but is costlier.

MiniTool Partition Wizard: Final verdict

MiniTool’s Partition Wizard is an ideal tool that’ll help you manage the files on your PC more resourcefully, and is suitable for both individual and enterprise use. However, it’s much more expensive than competing products despite providing lesser customer support.
