The majority of retailers in Singapore are currently pushing Black Friday deals, and in the midst of all that hullaballo, you may have forgotten about Cyber Monday. Cyber Monday officially falls on the Monday following Black Friday – this year that means it will be Monday, December 2. However, we have seen some retailers referring to the entire sales period as 'Cyber Weekend'.

But the term weekend undersells it a little, as we've see in previous years that retailers begin their Black Friday sales way before the official date – Friday, November 29 this year – and continue them well after Cyber Monday.

That means you have plenty of time to get all your shopping finished in time for the holiday period, whether it be for family and friends or simply just treating yourself. We're pretty confident in saying the Cyber Weekend is one of the, if not the, biggest of the year, and a time when we see the biggest discounts.

Below you can find our deal predictions for Cyber Monday in Singapore this year, including what we expect to see from major retailers including Amazon, Lazada, Shopee and Dyson.

Cyber Monday Singapore 2024: More retailer choices

Can't find what you're looking for? Or maybe you're after something not tech related – we've rounded up a further selection of retailers in both Singapore and SG that traditionally hold Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales below:

Cyber Monday 2024 in Singapore: key information

What is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday was created during the early popularity of online shopping. Originating back to 2005 in the US, it got tagged onto the Monday following Black Friday so new online retailers could also score some profits from the biggest sales event of the year.

Eighteen years later, Cyber Monday has become a mainstay of this massive sale period every November. In 2024, the Cyber Monday sales will kick off on December 2, following the Black Friday weekend that starts on November 29.

Does Singapore have Cyber Monday sales?

Just like on Black Friday, shoppers in Singapore get another chance to score some big deals. Typically, a lot of sales that started on the Friday will continue on into the Monday, but a few retailers will save some discounts for Cyber Monday specifically – so if you don’t see what you want on sale in the days prior, it’s possible you might be able to score that bargain on the Monday instead.

Is Cyber Monday too late to get a good deal?

Yes and no – it really depends on what the sales look like during Black Friday and the weekend prior. While some hot ticket items might run out of stock before the Cyber Monday sales kick off, there’s still plenty of bargains that will pop up specifically on December 2. Still, if you see a deal you think is worth grabbing in the days before Cyber Monday, we recommend grabbing it as soon as you can as stock might be limited.

Where to shop during Cyber Monday 2024

Just like Black Friday, Cyber Monday is not a single retailer shopping event – there’s a big variety of sellers who’ll jump in with a wide range of offers on December 2.

For the best variety of products, you’ll want to check out online marketplaces and department stores like Lazada, Amazon, Shopee and Robinsons. Sites like these will have deals across multiple departments, including tech, fashion, homewares, toys and many more. Plus you can score some international deals from both Japan and the US directly on Amazon Singapore.

If you’re looking for laptops, Lenovo will have a great selection of deals to shop on Cyber Monday. While Lenovo will also have peripherals, if you’re after something specific you can go directly to Razer for gaming keyboards, mice and headsets, especially if you’re keen on RGB lighting.

You’ll want to keep both Dyson and Harvey Norman on your list for appliances and vacuums, and ErgoTune and Secretlab if you’re in need of new office furniture as well. And for any brand-specific deals, we recommend keeping an eye on Apple and Samsung, especially if you’re interested in iPhones, MacBooks, iPads or the Samsung Galaxy range.

Closer to the sale, we’ll have a complete list of retailers in both Singapore and Malaysia so you can shop around once Cyber Monday is here.

Cyber Monday 2024 in Singapore: buying advice

While TechRadar will be rounding up the highlights from the Cyber Monday sale right here, it still helps to keep the following in mind while hunting for bargains.

1. Check in early

Early shoppers score the best deals before they run out – while you might be tempted to wait around for a bigger discount, sometimes stock will simply run out or a deal will only be available for a limited time. We highly recommend checking in early to see what the deals are to avoid disappointment. However, with this in mind….

2. Know what you’re looking for

It’s very easy to give in to spontaneous shopping during big sales events like this, and planning ahead can help you avoid buyer’s remorse. We recommend knowing what you’re looking for and what you’re willing to pay for it well ahead of time.

3. Be prepared to buy alternatives

Unfortunately, there’s no guarantee that a specific item will come on sale. In case it doesn’t, or you miss out on a deal, we recommend having a few alternatives in mind. Of course, not everything will have something that can replace it – if you’re really set on a PS5 to play specific games like Marvel’s Spider-Man or God of War: Ragnarok, an Xbox Series X really isn’t going to fill that void – but if you’re shopping for something like a new TV, you might be able to find one from a different brand that still ticks all the right boxes with similar specs.
