The clock is ticking until the Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals arrive. With the sales event set to begin on November 29, we're anticipating a number of Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch OLED, and Nintendo Switch Lite discounts and deals to begin to pop up before that date.

If you're in the market for a new handheld console or want to shop for some games or accessories for your existing one, then there's practically no better time to buy. Every year, Black Friday and the lead up to it brings loads of discounts on the best Nintendo Switch games, the best Nintendo Switch accessories, and of course many of the best Nintendo Switch controllers. Although the savings have not yet been officially unveiled, there's no reason to suggest that this year will be any different.

With the tentatively named Nintendo Switch 2 on the horizon, there's even quite a substantial chance that many retailers will offer some of the best deals that we've ever seen in an attempt to begin to clear stock. We also expect a number of fan-favorite bundles to be readily available at bargain prices, particularly those that come with a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Here's everything that you need to know about this year's deals, plus some examples of the savings we saw last year to help get you excited.

Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals: FAQs

When do the Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals start in 2024?

Black Friday will officially begin on Friday, November 29. That said, we expect Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals to start popping up before that date. Last year we saw lots of savings in the weeks before the sales event started in full.

Where will the best Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals be?

Plenty of popular retailers offer their own Black Friday deals. This year, these are likely to include a range of discounts on Nintendo Switch consoles, accessories, and video games. Based on what we saw last year, here are the best retailers to watch depending on your location:

US

Amazon: flash deals on bundles and games
Best Buy: discounts on games and accessories
Walmart: excellent Switch bundles
GameStop: offers on games, accessories and more

UK

Amazon: Switch bundles with many different games
Argos: significantly reduced games
Currys: a wide range of different console bundles
Nintendo Store: regularly includes freebies with bundles
Very: a variety of bundles with top games

What kind of Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals should I expect?

Rather than any massive discounts on consoles, I would expect a few Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals to be special bundles. These allow you to pick up the console and get a top game like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for free plus a few months of Nintendo Switch online membership. These are fantastic value and make for excellent gifts.

Of course, there will also be a wide range of savings on Nintendo Switch games, accessories, and controllers. This will likely include headphones, cases, video games, and SD cards.

Nintendo Switch (Neon) + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + 3 Months Switch Online: $299 at Walmart
Some new incarnation of this great value Nintendo bundle appears almost every year around the Black Friday period, suggesting its huge popularity. It includes the Switch console, a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and a 3-month Switch Online membership.

Image

Nintendo Switch OLED + Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Bundle: $349 at Walmart
This Super Smash Bros. Ultimate themed bundle was introduced this year and we expect it to be a big hit. It packs a Nintendo Switch OLED, limited-edition gray Joy-con controllers, three months of Nintendo Switch Online Membership and, of course, a copy of the latest Smash Bros. game.

Image

Nintendo Switch OLED model: was $349.99 now $334 at Walmart
It's no secret that the latest Nintendo hardware hardly ever receives significant discounts so we suspect that this small saving is going to be one of the best offers this year. While we do think bundles are the way to go, this is a great way to save if you just want to get your hands on the console.

Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Con: $299.99$295 at Walmart

Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy‑Con: was $299.99 now $295 at Walmart
If you want to get your hands on a no-thrills Nintendo Switch console, Walmart currently has the system for almost $5 below its RRP. Though it's a nice little savings, we'd also advise shopping open box for further savings.

Image

Nintendo Switch Lite: $199 at Best Buy
We don't expect many Black Friday Nintendo Switch Lite deals this year. We'll update this list the moment any become available but, for now, you can save on the console by trading in another system at Best Buy.

Image

Super Mario Odyssey: was $59.99 now $49.99 at Walmart
Save $20 - I'm a big fan of Mario's latest big 3D outing, Super Mario Odyssey, which is comfortably still one of the Nintendo Switch's best exclusive games. Although it originally came out back in 2017, this discount is a great opportunity for anyone who hasn't gotten around to playing it yet to pick up the game for less. Charming platforming fun awaits.

Image

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: was $59.99 now $41.99 at Walmart
This is a great discount on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (which reached $29 on Amazon last December). It's a fantastic price point for one of the best RPGs of the year and well worth picking up.

Image

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Cosmic Edition: was $39.99 now $14.99 at Best Buy
It's Mario with a gun, what more could you want? An excellent tactical shooter in the vein of XCOM 2, this is a turn-based take on Mario with the amusing Rabbids from the Rayman series thrown in. This "Cosmic Edition" also includes a download code for some bonus digital content, grabbing you a slice of extra value.

Image

Sonic Frontiers: was $59.99 now $29.99 at Best Buy
It's not the most recent Sonic game anymore, but, this is still a great price for fans of the blue blur. In our review, we gave the game four and a half stars, calling it "a bold new direction." You're unlikely to see many discounts quite so steep on the more recent Sonic Superstars, either, making Frontiers a perfect way to save while still getting your Sonic fix.

Image

Sonic Superstars: was $59.99 now $34.99 at Target
Although this price cut is not quite as much as you will save picking up the older Sonic Frontiers, this is still a fantastic discount on the most recent Sonic title. We loved it in our review, where we praised the title's excellent sense of "physics and momentum" alongside "fun, unique gimmicks."

Image

Persona 5 Royal: was $59.99 now $24.99 at Best Buy
After years of being exclusive to other platforms, this hugely popular anime RPG has finally made its way to Nintendo Switch. With hundreds of hours of story, social simulation, and combat to experience, this is a great bargain on a comprehensive RPG package. This price point is also well below the previous record low of $29 at Amazon.

Image

Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection: was $39.99 now $14.99 at Best Buy
With the recent success of Assassin's Creed Mirage, now is the perfect time to explore the stealth series' roots. This collection packs three great games and all of their DLC content together in one place for a massively reduced price. At $25 off, the value for money here is staggering.

Image

PowerA Enhanced Wired Controller for Nintendo Switch - Ancient Archer: was $27.99 now $13.99 at Amazon
If you're going to be picking up plenty of games this Black Friday, it might be worth investing in a new controller in advance. This wired pad from PowerA is a great choice and comes in a range of designs. We particularly like this Legend of Zelda-themed variant, which is currently at its lowest price ever.

Image

SanDisk 400GB microSDXC card: was $69.99 now $48 at Amazon
It's not the highest capacity available, but 400GB is more than enough to no longer have to worry about running out of space when downloading Nintendo Switch games - at least for a little while! Although it's not the lowest price we've seen this Black Friday, this Nintendo Switch-compatible SanDisk card is still on a discount.

Image

SanDisk 1TB microSDXC card: was $109.99 now $69.99 at Walmart
This huge 1TB capacity micro SD card is the ultimate Nintendo Switch storage solution. With fast speeds and plenty of space, you won't have to worry about an upgrade any time soon. This price is also significantly lower than the $133.85 price point the storage card reached on sale on Amazon last Black Friday.

Image

PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch: was $59.99 now $41.99 at Amazon
PowerA's wireless Nintendo Switch controller is a fine choice for if the official Pro Controller is a bit out of your price range. It's got great battery life, and a few neat extras like back paddle buttons and a program button for custom mapping. There are plenty of colors to choose from, but this Legend of Zelda edition currently has the biggest discount.

Image

HyperX Cloud Alpha wired gaming headset: was $99.99 now $49.99 at Amazon
HyperX's Cloud Alpha headset works on every console as well as PC. It's perfectly suited to the Nintendo Switch, too, especially in portable mode, thanks to the system's built-in headphone jack. Plus, the comfort and resistance to wear and tear on offer make the headset ideal for younger players. With a huge 50% discount, this is the best price we have ever seen on this particular model.

Image

Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX Wireless: was $119.99 now $59.99 at Target
We rarely see high-quality wireless gaming headsets for the Nintendo Switch selling for under $100. Now you can finally go wireless for an even lower price. What's more, this Target-exclusive midnight red colorway is cheaper than the black on offer at the likes of Amazon. This Turtle Beach headset is also compatible with Xbox, PS5, PS4, and PC, too, so is perfect if you own other platforms.

Image

Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Sports bundle: £259.99 at Nintendo Store
If you want to pick up a Nintendo Switch following Black Friday, then this bundle with Nintendo Switch Sports is a great choice. In addition to the game, it also includes three months of membership to Nintendo Switch Online so you can play online games right away. That said, if you're looking for a version of this bundle with either Mario Kart 8 or Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Game has a pair of excellent deals that include this bundle.

Image

Nintendo Switch and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope: was £309.98 now £249.99 at Argos
This Argos deal is well worth considering if you're searching to get ahold of a console and a game for significantly cheaper. When you factor in the price of the console, you're essentially getting a game for free - so it's a great bundle to consider if you're looking for a huge saving.

Image

Nintendo Switch OLED and Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope: was £359.98 now £299.99 at Argos
Would you prefer the Nintendo Switch OLED instead? You can also get the more recent console with the same new Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope game in a bundle at Argos. An identical £25 saving applies, so it's a solid discount this Black Friday.

Image

Nintendo Switch with free selected accessory: was £259.99 now £249.99 at Argos
This Argos deal will net you a free Stealth Premium Travel Case so that you can take your console out and about without fear of accidental damage. This deal is well worth considering if you intend to be using your Switch in handheld mode during your travels.

Image

Nintendo Switch Lite + accessory: was £199.99 now £189.99 at Argos
While you pay the regular price for a Switch you do get the added bonus of getting a Switch accessory for free. This is a great deal, especially considering that we haven't seen many discounts on the Nintendo Switch Lite so far.

Image

Nintendo Switch Lite + SanDisk 128GB microSD card: was £240 now £203.68 at Amazon
We've seen this deal go cheaper towards Black Friday in the past, but now isn't a bad time to check it out. You're getting a Switch Lite and bags of extra storage thanks to that microSD card. Other colors are also available but are ever so slightly pricier.

Image

SanDisk 64GB microSDXC card: was £19.99 now £8.99 at Argos
This 64GB card can allow you to download lots more digital games. This solid discount matches the price that we saw last year and is ideal if you don't need too much extra storage. As a licensed product, you also don't need to worry about compatibility issues.

Image

SanDisk 128GB microSDXC card: was £28.73 now £13.69 at Amazon
This is one of the lowest prices that we have ever seen for this official 128GB card and beats the £16.99 price that we saw last Black Friday. Like the other officially licensed cards on this list, compatibility with your system is a guarantee.

Image

SanDisk 256GB microSDXC card: was £24.63 now £22.49 at Amazon
If you intend to download a lot of games digitally on your Nintendo Switch, you might prefer the larger 256GB microSD card option. The discount might not look impressive, but this card is currently selling for well below the £34.99 price tag that we saw last year.

Image

HyperX Cloud Alpha wired gaming headset: was £89.99 now £37.83 at Amazon
If you're after great value for money then you can't really go too far wrong with the HyperX Cloud Alpha headset.

Image

Super Mario Bros. Wonder: was £49.99 now £39.99 at Amazon
If you want to pick up the latest Mario game for less (and, after our 5/5 review, who can blame you) then Amazon is currently selling it for £10 below the £49.99 RRP. A whimsical 2D masterpiece, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is the real deal and well worth picking up.

Image

Nintendo Switch Sports + 3 months of Nintendo Switch Online: £38.99 at Amazon
This is an awesome deal that nets you a copy of Nintendo Switch Sports and 3 months' worth of Nintendo Switch Online subscription at a significantly reduced price.
