What TV shows are available on Paramount Plus UK?
There's a lot to get through here, so we'll just offer a sample of the growing range of diverse offerings on Paramount Plus UK.
Yellowstone, the Kevin Costner-led hit drama, is available to stream, as are prequel series 1883 and 1923. You can also enjoy the zeitgeist-grabbing Yellowjackets, acclaimed Emma Stone-starring cringe comedy The Curse, and Mayor Of Kingstown, a gritty crime story starring Jeremy Renner and Kyle Chandler as members of a family whose business is quite literally prison.
Sci-fi fans are well served by the mega-budget TV adaptation of the Halo videogame series (which was recently canceled) and enough Star Trek to fill a Spacedock. The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, Enterprise, Discovery, Picard, Strange New Worlds, and Lower Decks are all available to stream on Paramount Plus UK.
There's plenty of classic shows on the platform, too, including Billions, The Affair, Blue Bloods, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (four seasons), Dexter, Elementary, and a whopping 26 seasons of South Park. You can also catch every season of Cheers and its more famous spin-off Frasier, including last year's reboot. Lastly, kids are also well served, with SpongeBob SquarePants, Paw Patrol, and Avatar: The Last Airbender among the many attractions on Paramount Plus UK.
What movies are available on Paramount Plus UK?
There's no shortage of quality movies on Paramount Plus UK. Theatrical blockbusters released in recent years are represented by Top Gun: Maverick, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Scream VI, Sonic the Hedgehog, and the latest instalment in the Transformers franchise Rise of the Beasts. (Every movie in the series – except for Bumblebee – is available on the platform.)
It's in terms of classic movies that Paramount Plus UK really comes into its own, however. Pulp Fiction, The Talented Mr Ripley, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, American Beauty, Chinatown, Grease, No Country for Old Men, Airplane!, and The Godfather trilogy are just a few of the all-time greats you can watch right now.
Classic high school movies are represented by Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Clueless, and Mean Girls, while Tom Cruise embarks on seven impossible missions - you can check out our guide to Mission: Impossible movies ranked to see what we think of each entry.
It wouldn't be Paramount Plus UK without a healthy offering of Star Trek movies, and you can boldly watch all of Kirk and Picard's big screen outings aside from Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond. The undoubted standout is Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, one of our best sci-fi movies. Want to know how the voyages of the starships Enterprise (and Voyager and Discovery) fit together? Our guide to watching the Star Trek movies in order has got you covered.
Is Paramount Plus worth the money?
If you're looking at price, Paramount Plus competes well with its biggest rivals in the streaming landscape, such Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus, and Netflix.
It'll cost you £6.99 per month or £69.90 for the year, which is cheaper than the respective with/without ads tiers at Netflix and Disney Plus. Plus, Paramount Plus Essential is also a cheaper alternative to Prime Video's video-only option.
But, with an arguably cheaper price, does it still offer the same competitive content? As is true with all streaming platforms, it depends on whether its content library is what you're personally looking for. Disney Plus is the home to Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and National Geographic. But, if you're into Star Trek, Paramount Plus is home to more than 800 episodes of Trekky content that is sure to impress. It's also a great platform for family content, so if you're a family of streaming fans, there should be something for everyone to enjoy.
So, is it worth the money? Well, there's a lot to like about Paramount Plus and they're working continuously to add new content to the platform. In such a competitive world though, there's other services that have a more comprehensive collection of content and thus appeal to wider audiences.
